Kings of Leon just got announced for O Son Do Camino in Santiago de Compostela with a note of it being a northern Spanish exclusive.

Given they're also at NOS Alive, it feels like another code for them being at other Spanish fests. This one, perhaps?

Big gap for them so yes I guess so.

Unless mad cool pull out an exclusive act it's looking similar to the rest of Europe fests.

Hoping for Lady Gaga as an exclusive. Muse and Queens to save it.

“Northern Spanish exclusive” is a very deliberate sounding choice of words

Would also be idiotic to.

You don't ask people to spend a lot of money a few days before Christmas when they are feeling broke and distracted by the festive period. They've failed already.

Many people get gift cards and money for christmas. Creating hype shortly before Christmas can certainly pay off

In a year so weak in national festivals (vid. Primavera and BBK lineups) and also some International,  MC is playing with frustration  and  desire, some people remain undecided and they must be expecting what MC could offer, no matter announcing dates.

If they press the correct button, dates will be not a factor, if don,t, dates could be a gross mistake.

But lineup is the queen, not dates.

In Spain Xmas gifts are given on January 5/6th (Reyes Magos)

No, it's both and more often than not it's around the 25th of December since the 7th of January pretty much everyone gets back to work (the 7th is typically a holiday for kids so they can play with their toys, but kids aren't getting festival tickets as a present) and it's common to get holidays the entire last week of December and gather with the family then.

However a bit chunk of the public (~40%) is international, so it's certainly something to keep in mind, added to the fact that other festivals (Primavera Sound, Werchter...) are selling out, so many might have ruled out Mad Cool in favour of those fearing they could miss out.

And I am with Big Kahuna here, many are waiting for Mad Cool since other lineups have been rather disappointing, so there's still a big piece of the cake. If they deliver they will do well; if not, good luck, hardly anyone is choosing Mad Cool above other festivals/plans if there's an alternative.

Like the way Chappell Roan was announced as a "English festival headline" exclusive for Reading and Leeds, which hinted she might be appearing at another English festival in a non-headline position.

Poor effort. Also no dot for St(.) Vincent.

If it's the 12th (3rd day) then that would mean foster the people would be playing Madrid and lisbon on the same day.

Edit: it's been debunked. JT has exclusive Spanish date elsewhere

    • Avril gets above GC on rarity (see Cypress Hill this year). She drew in something like 70,000 at Glastonbury, so much so that they had to close the field off. I’d wager that she would get the biggest crowd of the entire weekend if she was to play DL.
    • We've reasonably predicted/wanted a bill of Blink, Avril, Good Charlotte for a while 😅    I'm surprised that Good Charlotte's UK shows in November seem to be doing well atm... obviously if they sell out those venues then they should be subheadliners right? (if they play download that is). They'd only look a strong sub if it was before Blink though I rekn.

    • Well Jason Isbell is on blistering form for this run of European gigs, wonderful night in Bristol
    • I am also interested in this. I was looking for past years, and it looks like it has a limited capacity.  I would love to see Ela Minus, but I guess I won't be able to make it in time, unfortunately.
