Yeah, I think if Gaga was in-play for Glastonbury in terms of availability and price they’d definitely go for it.

Can see her doing Coachella as a one off album launch, and then a stadium tour to follow in 2026 maybe.

I don’t think it’s that outlandish - they’re different enough from each other as counter programming to be head to head.

Was current thinking Basement Jax and Underworld against them? Could be some good parties there.

Yeah my thinking was more not about the difference between the acts more the neither gonna pack out the area - meaning should a Basement Jaxx or Underworld be up against them - it might mean it get dangerously overcrowded

I think we also have it down as Amyl in the park that night

May just be me but interested to see Jackson Browne still touring. Just checked and he hasn’t played Glastonbury since 2010. Would love to catch him on a sunny afternoon Pyramid/Other slot. My Dad’s favourite artist so I grew up listening to his music.

No busier than e.g. Justice vs SZA and The National.

i.e. busy, but nothing dangerous or worrisome.

As someone who was working that night - I can tell you the risk of overcrowding was greatly reduced by the fact lots of peope went home- this is a Friday not a Sunday so i don't think its the same situation

That was just one example.  The Flaming Lips stowed out The Park the night of the Great Radiohead Exodus, but again nothing to get stressed about.

Not getting stressed just im not quite sure im ready to believe that is the combination of other & Pyramid stage headliner for Friday - as someone with no base of knowledge for the info that makes it true i will not be convinced thats a lock just yet.   id probaby need more information on where the info came from instead of the actual case study of previous years to convince me

So my only thought on this is the combination of the two 1975 + Loyle Carner as the big 2 Friday Night headliners?

I can totally see clashes like The 1975 vs The Prodigy or Lady Gaga vs Loyle Carner, but I just can’t buy the idea of a 1975 vs Loyle Carner clash on the two biggest stages on the Friday night of the festival.

Both could easily headline their respective stages, but I just don't think it would be at the same time.

Also struggling to believe its LC vs 1975 on Friday (could be wrong days not wrong acts) one of the two Is gonna be wrong. While obviously differently musically I think they have a similar fanbase at least in age demographics.

FWIW someone has posted on here that Charli is on the Friday night, which I can also believe.

Can someone remind me of the source for both these two bits?

Loyle Carner comes from Brave Sir Robin. Used to post on here with an almost flawless record

1975 comes from a few people including roughbloke and mezphy (cant remember his name) who used to post on here too with great info and a couple other people saying likewise.

The festival put Idles and Fontaines on at the same time last year

I’m no fan of The 1975 but they’ll have a very decent crowd

I just can't see Charli going against The 1975 when she's getting married to the drummer. Seems bonkers.

Unless 1975 aren’t actually doing it.

It's work though innit.  Means they get the rest of the weekend together rather than working alternate nights and losing 2/3rds of the weekend.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
