Re: Neil Young. Does he play Hey Hey, My My or Rockin' in the Free World? Remember there was a point where you got one or the other, though that may not be the case anymore.

According to SetList.fm played Hey Hey, My My 14 times in 2024 but all with Crazy Horse. Rockin'....I am pretty certain we will get. Ideal outdoor song. But it's 2025 and not 2009. Hopefully Neil pulls it off but I am just not sure he'll get a huge crowd.

This. Ignore my prior post, forgot Setlist FM separates Young / Y&CH / Y&POTR etc. etc. performances, and pre-coffee brain applied no critical thought.

The performance with Chrome Hearts from September sounded good, videos online.

Personal preference is we get a rocking first half, acoustic 3rd quarter and final rocking final quarter.

Two guys kissing on stage is "creepy behaviour" now? What a way to display your homophobia.

Didn't Malaysian LGBTQ+ groups condemn the action after it did more harm than good?

I get it come from a good place.

I think at least one did, but it's totally irrelevant to what the original poster said. Call two men kissing "creepy behaviour" is literally textbook homophobia. The only way the could have made their intentions more clear would have been using a slur.

I think the reactions to his post says it all - we were textbook offended.

@ClementsMike it's 2025, darling.

f**k. My bad.

I was referring to the practice of them lining girls up, getting staff to check id’s and then granting them a snog onstage. I’d misread this and so apologies for the implication there. Not intended at all in that way.
The power flex on the girls? Yeah, f**king creepy.

To be fair a very short-lived practice. Which was him pecking someone (both men and women) during a point during a song.

Checking IDs is better than not checking IDs!

Same as the likes of Elvis Presley, David Bowie and more all done the same

Exactly, and lets allow consenting adult women to go along with whatever they want! Who would have thought that men with high social status are considered attractive.

Only just read that LCD Soundsystem are doing a residency at the Brixton academy, didn't even know it had re opened) , in June. Wonder if they might be a Woodsies headliner ? I know they were on as Pyramid sub last year. As not going last year, I'd love this!

Outstanding anecdote. I'm more curious about Ezra from Vampire Weekend being in a... QPR top?

QPR change kit from some point in the mid-2010s. But yes.

Might say something about my knowledge gap that I didn't know the singer.

Mick Jagger in a Scotland top was also a head-scratcher tbf.

They had the Radio 1 Big Weekend in Norwich about 10 years ago and he wore it for the whole performance

I know someone who worked at the hotel all the acts were staying at and she saw him, panicked and just called him Mr Dogg

Superb stuff.

Surely that's an acceptable way to address him?

I think if you do want to see LCD Soundsystem in the UK next year that it'll be Brixton or nothing.

I agree. The Chrome Hearts gig from last September looked and sounded great!

    • Lets get the ball rolling then...  The dates are confirmed for 22nd-25th July. As for acts, the headliners recently seem to be a big solo 70s/80s name and then 2 MOTR crowd pleasers so worth seeing who starts being announced for places from the autumn  I had seen Sam Fender is reportedly doing outdoor shows next year so could see him as the act who ends up doing here, IoW and TRNSMT  Florence and the Machine would be an absolute dream but not sure if she'll be touring 2 years in a row  Id seen also George Ezra was spotted at the festival this year so I'm sure he'll shuffle his way in somehow!  Let the speculation begin...

    • Feels like Rush's structure is set up for days off after shows tbf. They have a night off after all 3 shows in London, and I'm assuming somebody else has snuck into the gaps and put in a show.
    • I'm bemused why Jaissle hasn't been confirmed yet. If he and his coaches are already there, surely the paperwork to send this through must be somewhat sorted and confirmation imminent, no?   Feel like clubs are soft on tapping up now as an industry, right? I swear most deals seem to be a case that personal terms are agreed beforehand. In an older life, this Bruno deal has a potential case imo given the use of intermediaries to plant a seed in Bruno's mind this was a good idea (much I'm prepared to accept last season's mess would likely have had Bruno doubting if he wanted to stay regardless) but the industry seems more forgiving of this stuff at present. Wind seems to be picking up that a deal is about to happen regardless. Shame as I'd have been more willing to accept a move to Real Madrid but it is what it is.   Would be nice if we could show some more balls with this stuff tbf. Feel like the owners are taking a strange lesson from Isak last year in that now, we just have to let everyone go at the first sign of trouble, even though other clubs in a similar boat to us are seemingly more willing to turn back and tell pursuers to f**k off.
    • I wouldn't. U2 would almost certainly be doing stadiums and Muse have been saying they have stadium shows booked. They're the likelier of the two to be doing BST Hyde Park, but my expectations would be to expect them turning up at a stadium.
