She seems bigger than both Fender and 1975 to me at the minute, but perhaps it’s my algorithms telling me otherwise.

Bigger than Fender only within a very narrow demographic I would think, the algorithms maybe think you are a 19 or 20 year old girl 🙂

Sales don't back this up - but i get why it seems like that and there's defo an argument to be made

So realistically, no one has anything solid atm, its just people hyping up who they want to headline. Nothing wrong with that.

What would be your dream 3 headlines for this year?

Radiohead - Adele - The Rolling Stones

With the current rumours I’d be happy with Olivia and Sam, would obviously love a huge bucket list legend on that lineup too but as this will be my first Glasto if it’s The 1975 it gives me a night off the Pyramid which is ideal.

Rumour is that the lineup is coming this week, likely tomorrow. Post Malone might have just revealed himself as a headliner a bit early

His manager replied to a comment saying that Coachella being there isn't a leak or a mistake, they're just using his tour to build hype for the main announcement I guess.

I think it’s a well matched trio, and does eliminate a risk of there’s being a total bomb headline set a la SZA.

That being said, I’ve always viewed Glastonbury as the place to see the biggest and the best acts, who sell out stadiums across the world.  I’ve been fortunate over the years to see Adele, Paul McCartney, Radiohead, Coldplay etc and you walk away feeling pretty chuffed after those sets. The only critique I have of those 3 is you’re lacking that type of act.

Rodrigo is on the cusp of being a global stadium sell out superstar, and providing the 3rd album doesn’t flop she’ll get there. I think both Fender and The 1975 deserve their shot, but can understand why it would be perceived as a weak trio.

I’m hoping for something spectacular coming out the blue, but if it doesn’t I wouldn’t complain about that trio. And possibly leaves the option for some really strong sub headliners which I think has been lacking in recent years.

I couldn't agree more. I think one of Glastonbury's strengths (and what justifies the ticket price) is the "inaccessibility" of its headliners. I feel like in the past, doing Glasto meant seeing artists you couldn't see anywhere else, some of whom don't even tour. But that wasn't the case last year, and if it's Olivia/Fender/1975 this year, it won't be either.

Personally I don't mind because there will be 50 other acts I'm interested in and I won't be able to see them all, but it's low key disappointing.

She's not bigger than Lana Del Ray or Tame Impala.....

She’s more monthly listeners than Tame Impala. Catching up on OR. Nearly 8x the monthly listeners than Sam Fender.

Way too big now for the other stage.

SZA has more monthly listeners than all of them....look how that metric turned out

Disagree. Spunking loads of money on a pyramid headliner leaves less money for elsewhere. Gaps that are inevitably filled by DJs. I think stepping back from the megastar headliner is a good thing. If you want a megastar go to Wembley.

SZA was supposed to play on another stage was she not? Got bumped up. But hey you gotta wonder at the musical taste of folk who choose Avril Levene ahead of Janelle Monae and SZA.

Then that's your argument unfolded. If SZA was supposed to play Other with 64m monthly stream, then that number is arbitrary. Agree Charli is massive, but the demographic of the festival is pretty wide ranging. I think she'd be the perfect other headliner with a more legacy act i.e. Stevie/Stones ect on the mid.

My argument doesn’t just rely on simply monthly listeners. Depends where those listeners are located. She’s also British and a fast rising star. Fits EE’s wish to have more female headliners too.

Not sure why you are getting angry about this? Or why this has to be a battle? Wind yer neck in.
