Who bats at 2 and 3 to make it an all timer?

Pulp subbing?

Chaka Khan in the mix?

Rihanna - Pulp - Chappell Roan - Stevie Wonder - Beth Gibbons

Thanks.  I mean if this is kosher it makes her a whole lot more likely at Glastonbury.

It also would mean that The Post was real the whole time, which would objectively be one of the funniest things to ever happen on here.

real is one way to phrase it

Oh im sure the album has been done for years.   Its just not wanting to release it without the world tour to my limited Knowlege.

Its not launched in London thats just when the Euro leg is - the whole world tour is only about 15 dates so its not massive.  But im sure New York and LA have shows before London though im not sure in what order -  Il see if I can find out and share something more concrete.

Any more concrete info to share???

Pulp won't be doing Glastonbury.

The odds of that happening are plummeting are they? Be a surprise given no UK shows this year and Jarvis already said they have plans to tour in '25.

Although Different Class in full arena tour, I could get behind, seeing as 2025 is 30 years since that masterpiece came out.

I don't know for definite but I believe The Post has more credit to it than some people do. I also get the angle behind Pulp not doing it and feel they've had plenty of chance since tbe reunion to play it. They have only played one slot I believe that is a non headlining slot and it's just something they don't need to take on in the UK given they've got one of the most famous talked about headline performances ever at Glastonbury. That's legacy.

On the subject of Harry Styles, I did hear from a credible source at the '23 festival that there was at least some discussion about him potentially replacing the Arctics if the issue that had caused them to cancel gigs that week persisted. No idea how far it went mind, but it was out there

Seems unlikely given they are playing new music in the US currently - would love this though

Wasn't there some info that she's been booked for the Pyramid?

Surely most effective on a smaller, more intimate stage in the dark?

Hmm.  Top line of O-Rod, Fred... and Rihanna, with Stevie W in as Legend is not only supremely well balanced and varied but would be seen as an all timer wouldn't it?  I mean I could care less about Fred... but no denying current popularity.  If they pull that off, I'll be suitably impressed.  Kick Fred... for Harry Styles and even more so.

I think Rihanna is being way overhyped for this. I don't even dislike her but her most recent touring time wasn't a good time.

There's no way Stevie Wonder is in as legend. headliner or bust

Aye, I cannot see Stevie being dropped to Legend position. If he's over, it'll be BST or a one-off at The O2 Arena, probably.

As for Rihanna, she may have not pulled all-timer notices on her last tour - though this appears to be fairly glowing - but the sheer size of her catalogue and the rarity of any appearance would automatically make it a sensationally strong booking.

We're reaching a point where overseas stadium artists genuinely have no need or skin for the G - especially when they command eye-watering prices - which means that it's a coup to get 'em if they can. Nabbing people like Eilish and Rodrigo while the zeitgeist is hot - especially if they then go stratospheric, a la Beyonce after 2011 - can feel very good with the power of hindsight.

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
