Springsteen 2nd July, a beautiful warm up

No announcement from TW classic yet so I assume it’s a separate event.
It’s probably good news for the ppl that live close by but otherwise considering it’s second year in a row and the ticket prices, a weird choice just 2 days before RW.

He could easily have been the first headliner of the festival (I would have liked that) in case they are struggling again like the past two years. But profit is more important for LN of course…

Yeah, this is my thoughts too, but as you say they seem to be in favour of spreading themselves thinner to maximise profit...

Probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing him at Werchter now, thinking if I don't get Glasto tickets on Sunday about putting a run together of Live Is Live, Springsteen and then Rock Werchter and just hoping and praying that the line up delivers

For what I see, he doesn't play any festivals. Only his own shows. He played at TW Classic this Summer but it's more a long outdoor event than a real festival.

Hope we still have some news from Rock Werchter soon. Not only confirmations of Foo Fighters and Green Day.

"Easily" is not quite the right word to use. It's been 11 years since he last played a regular festival, this will be his 4th consecutive European tour without any festival dates in it.

Also, his recent health issues are forcing him to take 3-4 days of rest in between 2 locations. Which made booking this tour a complex puzzle, made evident by the fact that standalone Werchter events usually take place on a weekend/holiday and not a regular Tuesday.

Fair point, "easily" was the wrong word to use indeed. But the reality is that lineups across all LN related events are spreading more and more thin due to the continuous chase for max profit.

Let's see...Hopefully we'll get some nice names soon!

Edit: Tickets cost 138EUR. 208EUR to be in the front. And it's not even a one-day festival like TW Classic. Jeeezzz!

Hopefully you can camp over on the Tuesday night like before, Foos and Springsteen at Werchter my excitement is through the roof!

Springsteen is just the concert and on a tuesday. I don't think you can use the camping. Could be wrong...?

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
