They really should've given themselves time to be not jetlagged. That and Bono has said they couldn't hear their keyboards due to issues with the changeover after the pre-show DJ so they came in on the opening song in the wrong places, which didn't help. A shame as I love the Zoo TV aesthetic & Achtung Baby so starting off with 5 songs off AB in a row slathered in Zoo TV-esque imagery would've been a home run for me. A second go, one day would be immense. See you at the front. By the way...I know it wasn't shown on the telly and it doesn't feature on the setlist, but they definitely played Ultraviolet 😉
Kaboom Boxer
What’s with the sudden influx of Coldplay chatter? Has there been an uptick in rumours of them headlining over the last 48 hours?
NorthernSoul52
Not an uptick so much as we've all been leaning towards them being a lock already for a month, I'd say. They're playing two Australian shows this weekend, if we're looking for currency at the very least.
Jack.194
Now I’ve got tickets I can finally indulge! Is the feeling still Madonna, Coldplay and Dua Lipa? Would absolutely love it to be Blur!
K2SO
I'm still not entirely convinced by Coldplay/Dua/Madonna and I don't know why. There's literally nobody else around to play, but that trio just doesn't work in my head
CaledonianGonzo
Works better than Coldplay / Dua / Pink quite frankly
NorthernSoul52
I like Dua Lipa / Coldplay / Pink, but I'm clearly odd, so yeah.
fullfathom5
Hopefully Coldplay are Sunday night and there's nobody else on I want to see... so we can beat the traffic! Ha ha.
CaledonianGonzo
Pink and Madge is no like for like replacement.
NorthernSoul52
It's not, but I still like it. 😁

Will be interesting to see who plays opposite them on other stages if it is these. Anyone think there will be another Churnups type set? I also reckon the Churnups thing could be a fun thing they do going forward - They can pull a headline-sized act/a "Not right to headline, too big for anything else" in each year, have some fun with the code-name and create a new major slot at the festival. You could get the likes of Liam Gallagher in a slot like that, I reckon
NorthernSoul52
I did a mock bill the other day and gave Green Day the honour of being "The Churnups". Green Day into Tame Impala into Dua Lipa. Make it so.

Looked amazing on the TV. 2011 was brilliant, one of the most joyous headline sets I’ve seen on the farm, so if 2016 was any better that would have been amazing (I went to LCD Soundsystem). Definitely up for them next year, not seen them since 2012 and it’s striking just how happy they look on that stage.

I was torn between LCD and Earth Wind and Fire and went rogue last second to stay with the crew.
NorthernSoul52
Yeah, there were some almighty clashes. Love LCD Soundsystem and Earth Wind & Fire. But I don't regret being in that field for Coldplay. Not sure I'd switch it for anything else in the world.
