Nearly 2 weeks of Midnights, what we thinking? 

 

It's definitely a grower. It's slowly creeping up my Tay album rankings, it's def above Lover now. 

I'm getting more and more obsessed with Lavender Haze.  The bit where she screams "Get it off your chest, get it off my <DEEEESSSSSK>" is just so desperate. I could listen to it on repeat forever.

Good but not a worldie IMO. Some great great tunes on it but outside that, a bit samey. A good 7/10.

It’s not her best record but it’s in that second tier for sure. Some all timer tunes that make a best of comp (Maroon, Anti Hero, You’re on Your Own) and the rest is really solid stuff. You can’t really ask for more on someone’s 10th record IMO.

info from my TM source: she has been saying for weeks that a big sale is coming on 12th November, so top secret that her boss isn’t telling anyone what the sale is for, but everyone is drafted for overtime because it’s their “biggest onsale in years”. She said everyone in the office thinks it’s Taylor, I’m pretty certain it’s Eurovision myself - she said whatever it is, an announcement will be made on ad during I’m a celeb on Sunday

Can't see it being Eurovision if an announcement is going to be made in an advert during I'm A Celeb, although I've got no information about it. I just cant see the logic of ITV being happy to advertise a BBC show that's pretty much guaranteed to get a lot more viewers than anything ITV put on that night and I don't recall ever seeing a BBC advert for anything on ITV before, so I'd think Taylor seems more likely.

My hunch is that she’s doing a massive European arena tour in the fall. Lots of dates.

You make a good point actually - didn’t think about the BBC/ITV of it all. 
 

I would like an arena tour for autumn 2023 - I feel sometimes the amazing effects of the stadium get lost in the massiveness of the venue and because it’s still light here when she plays

The O2 a while ago put out an article about Taylor via their mailing list. Perhaps she has something like 10 nights booked there or something.

Also she guested with HAIM there recently. Perhaps she really wants to play there again.

I had taken a break from listening to it, I've been too caught up in other things this week, so it was my first listen in a while this morning and for me it has matured very well. Whilst it is not my favourite Taylor album, it is a very strong one indeed that is pretty consistent from top to bottom. Anti-Hero really is a solid favourite with me now, and I flipping love Snow on the Beach, YAOYOK, and Labyrinth.

A couple of arenas have been tweeting about Midnights actually. I do think a mini-residency is a good option

Not a good look for the festival or her after the entire thing this year where she had the worst carbon footprint in the world or whatever.

 

Regardless, no chance. As much as I'd love it to happen, there's just no way any of that comes off.

Even in the comically unlikely event that she was prepared to do both a US Stadium Show and a (presumably televised) set at Glastonbury in the same weekend - the stadium show wouldn't be scheduled for the Saturday night as that makes no sense. It'd be the Friday, or Sunday. She's playing Friday and Sunday shows elsewhere on the tour, so they're clearly not off the table, and they'd make logistics a hell of a lot easier and less exhausting.

But even that obviously wouldn't happen.

Surely it wouldn't be hard for her to have a set up for Glastonbury for a one off show, it's not exactly a big stage that has loads of room for a set anyway.
