👋  long time lurking over the years so thought I'd create an account because glastonbury chat here is much more active than the subreddit!

Managed to bag 4 groups yesterday but we have around 14 on our sheet, feeling hopeful we can get another 6/7 of them on sunday. Going back for my 8th this year and absolutely buzzing. Best of luck on Sunday!

Sorry if this has already been covered but we’re having a huge fight in our group chat about choosing our groups of 6 for Sunday.

Does it matter if we all just choose random groups of 6 (our favourites)? It will mean some people could be in multiples groups and some only in one.

Seen stuff about people getting locked out if they’re in multiple groups. Is this true?

So a friend got stuck as well at the authorisation page. Nothing happened after he authorised the payment. Well, he called his bank today and asked if there was an issue with his card and they told him, the website didn't support 3D-Secure for authorisation. Apparently, they were able to confirm this after looking into their system in order to find out what went wrong.

If this really is the case, then they royally screwed up. It sounds like the channel back from authorisation to the website didn't work, which could explain the unusually high number of complaints about people failing at that stage.

As suspected. Anxiety for Sunday now at max 😬

One thing I'm never sure of is how fast to F5.
For example, if you go to the ticket page now and keep hitting F5 quickly, you get the holding page. What happens then?  Is it some kind of server-protection. Are you in some way penalised for refreshing too quickly, blocked out for a short period of time or anything?

yes absolutely get the groups locked in at this stage it causes all kinds of unnecessary anguish and delay and might stop transactions from processing some hard decisions need to be made for greater good people try for 1 group they are in then another ....

Exactly the same here. Trying to take some positives for Sunday in that I got past the reg page at least. What's the general consensus in these situations where you are making progress but then hit a hurdle? (1) refresh? (2) hit 'back' one page and go again from there? (3) back to the start completely?

Past years, hit F5 until you get into the booking system. Then Back and re-submit if you get stuck in Reg Details, Buy Tickets or Payment stage. But do be a bit patient for each page to load. I’ve been stuck at all stages in the past, including Payment (for someone else’s tickets), sometimes this has worked, but sometimes not.

Yes.....cross-pollination of reg numbers in groups is a bad thing and to be avoided.

If Registration 'A' is in 2 groups and the first group gets through then Reg 'A' will be locked to allow that purchase to progress. If the second group gets through and enters numbers, including Reg 'A', then they will get an error message which prevents the sale progressing due to the presence of Reg 'A' which is in use in the other group. The second group could only progress if Reg 'A' was then removed.

Avoid this misery.

Sorry if already answered elsewhere - is there a limit on how many tickets across coach and general admission, can be purchased using a single card? Or is it six?

No limit per card....but limit of 6 per transaction.  If you're lucky enough to get through multiple times you can buy as many as you like on the same payment card.

Not a 'block' as such, but you'll keep getting the holding page until your F5 rate falls below 60/minute.

In the sale therefore you won't know if you've got the holding page genuinely, or because you're F5-ing too quickly and every F5 is wasted.

so the take away here is don't spam f5 more than once a second?

If it's the easiest resale ever, the vast majority will be down to economic pressures. Followed by the usual changes in plans, illnesses, family events etc. Far, far down the list, maybe less than 5% of returns will be due to any aspect of the lineup.

Yep I agree although some casuals might be put off by headline acts but that won’t vary much year to year and will be low numbers

Is the 60/minute in total or per browser used on one pc? So if I was refreshing 2 browsers every 2 seconds I would be ok?

Essentially....but it's more accurate to regard it as no more than 60/minute.  You could choose to use all your 60 'hits' in the first 20 seconds....but then you'd need to wait 40 seconds before going again to be sure of not triggering the limit.
