It sounds to me that he’s clearly aiming his comments at the major artists that charge upwards of $500 for them (Ariana, Shawn Mendes etc) - that’s a completely different situation to small artists doing them.

I thought that from the context of the article, but wonder if the writer did too.

Indeed. Apparently Matty said last night that they’re working on their 6th album currently.

Alright. Fingers crossed it’s not like the February 2020 tour where NOACF wasn’t ready so they played basically the same set as they’d done on the previous cycle.

I’m glad they didn’t delay the tour by a couple of months though or else it wouldn’t have happened!

Saw the first few songs of theirs at Leeds last year before f**king off home. They did look really good live but musically, not for me. A little too bubblegum and faux edgy for my liking. I'm sure they'll go down a storm though, every teen/early 20s in this country seems to love them.

That video where he's making fun of yungblud is pretty funny though

He nailed him and I did like the comment about "the most morally obvious stuff" which applies to a lot of people nowadays, but then making fun of that cringeworthy gimp is a low hanging fruit.

I’d started to doubt if they were likely for next year as I didn’t think the timing would work out for them, but if they’re touring, and most importantly, have a new album due, then that puts them as the front runner for the one non-female headliner by some margin imo.

Yep. The stench of controversy surrounding them is the only reason it wouldn’t happen IMO, and we know Emily doesn’t usually care about that very much.

Agree with this. Weren't there some rumours that they had been booked for next year, too?

Yeah gonna be interesting to see if all this Matty being a bellend stuff affects their bookability when it comes to stuff like Glastonbury. Obviously Glastonbury haven’t had a problem booking acts with prior controversies, and it may well have blown over by then, but it’s rare for an act to have so much controversy surrounding them at the exact time of headlining the festival.

Kanye probably the closest example and he is/was such an icon that the fest were never going to turn him down. There’s really no exact same scenario to compare it to in the modern era I don’t think

Yep, The Sun reported a while back that they’re booked to headline next year. Not the most trustworthy source, but they’re clearly one of the front runners to do it.

Yesterday's setlist, possibly their best to date for me.

1. The 1975 (BFIAFL version)
2. Looking For Somebody (To Love)
3. Happiness
4. Love Me
5. Part of the Band
6. Oh Caroline
7. I'm In Love With You
8. Paris
9. All I Need To Hear (with Tim Healy)
10. Be My Mistake
11. If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)
12. The Ballad of Me and My Brain
13. Medicine
14. About You
15. Somebody Else
16. A Change of Heart
17. The Sound
18. It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)
19. fallingforyou
20. Guys
21. I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes)
22. Robbers
23. I Like America & America Likes Me
24. Love It If We Made It
25. Sex
26. Give Yourself a Try
27. People

It seems that 'Chocolate' has completely been dropped now then.

Wouldn't exactly call it a stench, more a light whiff...

Josh Homme kicked a woman in the face for goodness sake. Axl Rose sang 'Absurd' on the farm. Healy being a twat is small time in comparison.

    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
    • I think the age of tickets flying out day one for a lot of artists is drawing to a close now, especially with the prices.   There will be exceptions of course, I was surprised how quickly Phoebe Bridgers sold out
    • Tbf they sold out the mainland European shows that follow this UK tour more or less immediately so I guess much of Europe will be stadiums for them next summer regardless and they might want to bring any stadium bespoke production here, even if it's just one night at a London stadium or whatever.    I like the new album and wanted to see them again but £150 for a standing ticket is ridiculous and all the sub-£100 price categories sold out. So you know, would like to go but guess I'm waiting for any last minute dropouts. Tbf I would hazard a guess of these 4 UK shows in November that more tickets are sold than unsold and by the time of the show it'll be, if not a full house, close enough.
    • I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility    It would feel like a bit of waste for their first set in the UK for 12 years be an hour and 10 mins as a sub    A lot of people will buy day tickets just for FNM
