I was at Download last weekend and saw Korn. Didn't know them at all, but a proper headline show.

Richard Hawley for one last gig at the Leadmill before it closes next week. Nearly 2 hour set covering the classics and last album, with a bit of rock n roll for the encore. Great gig, no frills, plenty of heart

Reptile sounded absolutely massive at the O2, was awesome. And coupled with those visuals was pretty spectacular. 
Sound on the small stage was a bit odd in places, I was stood between the 2 stages and the heavier bits sometimes sounded like they were coming from behind me. Mostly pretty much perfect though. Although I’m not sure how they can do a show on that scale and be repeatedly caught out by a broken mic!

Great night at Thetford Forest seeing James, ably supported by Shed Seven. We only saw the last 10 minutes of Jamie Webster but he seemed to go down well too

Yep I was there too cracking night all acts on top form. Plenty of Liverpool shirts down the front for Jamie's set early doors.

 

Can find the Forest shows hit and miss (I'm not a chair & picnic gig person) but 3 strong sets and some lovely sunshine gave the night a bit more oomph. 

 

Favourite part of the evening asking for a pint of Madri and Pepsi Max, the wonderful bar person proceeded to pour the Madri and Pepsi Max into the same cup. Couldn't believe my eyes.

Just had a fantastic evening at Westonbirt watching Paul Heaton and Billy Bragg - thank god it was an evening show rather than an all day event, cos Christ it was hot!

 

Billy Bragg - absolutely one of my musical heroes, I reckon that was about my 36th time seeing him. He has been such a massive part of my life since 1983, he almost feels like part of my family! Anyone who's struggling to find someone to see at Glastonbury on Friday night, go see the Bard of Barking - he is still wonderful!

 

Paul Heaton - really fantastic, he's still got a great voice & a very engaging show.

it seemed like i was going to have some not so great people around me but they turned out alright. did see one bloke get removed for who knows what. maybe being threatening. but it was very early on so didnt ruin the vibe at all.

 

Ill give it to Wembley for being as strict as they are on things. i brought a tote bag which was barely bigger than the A4 requirements and they tried to make me check it at the bag check. i just went to a portaloo for a few mins, folded it and shoved it in my back pocket and went through. scanners didnt even go off. im not a threat, i swear! pics coming in a bit if i can stay awake.

Always a better experience standing at Wembley than at the o2. Decent food selection too at not terrible prices (£12.90 for a massive buffalo chicken loaded fries). 
I was pretty near the front of rear standing, great views and liked that Dua had three stages across the stadium. Confetti everywhere!

Yep. Thanks. Check a few pages back and youll see some other galleries of mine from events. Comes in handy when you take photos at gigs/fests every once in a while. Can still do it even in the crowd with just a point and shoot. Practice makes perfect.

Are there food stalls outside Wembley nowadays ,been a while since ive been

Bright Eyes at the Barrowlands tonight. Absolutely fantastic show! Band were incredible and Conner in top form, brilliant set, just magic!

Little Simz & Chineke! Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall - phenomenal show, made the hairs on your neck stand up. 

 

She walked through the crowd giving out fistbumps and hugs (she had friends and family some of whom were just in front of us), but I chose to put my phone away when she got within a few feet and just enjoy seeing her being lush. 

 

4 guest vocalists one of them also did a crowd walk, all the band did solos (drummer particularly great), she rapped whilst conducting the orchestra for one track, the orchestra themselves sounded fabulous, for example on Gorilla. She got the crowd on their feet joining in with the show.,so she couldn't have done more and the crowd lapped it up - not always easy in an all seater.

Forever Now yesterday. Had some issues a first year festival can have but still worth it with a heavily discounted ticket. Def not on the level as Cruel World back in LA which is the sister festival. Sound was on point. Was surprised so many younger people were very into The The. Everyone showed up for Psych Furs, Johnny Mar  and Billy Idol. Kraftwerk sounded perfect as usual. Wonder if itll come back next year or not. The weather was great since it was cloudy all day with one smidge of rain.
