Mrs D just text , she’s back on the surgical assessment ward , her in infection markers are worse than last week, she’s on IV triple antibiotic therapy, and waiting for her CT scan.

thank you for all the love and well wishes guys

I just feel so helpless, especially with Covid and not being able to visit

Sending all my love to the both of you ❤

On the upside, it will be her workmates recovering her post surgery, so they will give her the “ good drugs and pain relief “.

and , of course, she can be very specific about what she’s feeling.

the big issue with surgery for her is all the scar tissue from her bowel cancer surgery 10 years ago

I'm sending best wishes your way mate.

Sorry have been radio silent of late.  Almost joined the boxing day meet but my kids were having none of it (up gone 1 am for goodness sake and to rub salt in the wounds up at 7 am the next day demanding breakfast!).
Will be on the next meet unless i have the little ones (my wife is unwell so unsure).

@Big durbs - sending best wishes to you and your wife! Must be horrid for you both combines with all the other crap going on.

morning guys, a quick update on Mrs D, appendix is fine , the antibiotics last week did the trick . That’s the good news.

on the downside, the same antibiotics have caused a massive inflammation of her bowel , which is a very delicate balancing act for her post bowel cancer ( medication every day / some foods off the menu ect )

in short, it’s not looking like she will be back home anytime soon 😞

hopefully that means no invasive treatment though. 🤞

    • Very quiet in here at the moment.....again.   I hate this time as other festivals start and we see who Sziget should've booked 🤣   The Cure knocking it out of the park once again at Primavera showed that they have fans of all ages and, even if it's felt they don't represent the direction Sziget is going in, they would've been a huge draw.   Ditto The XX, who I've never been a massive fan of tbh, but put me in my place at Primavera with a cracking set.

    • Yeah, I feel like people are really overlooking just how fantastic Simple Minds are. ABC have a classic 80s new wave album behind them as well.   That being said, yeah it's not worth travelling for. But it's a lineup I would be happy with if it were local to me
    • On the Wet Leg crowd - the opening day always has the worst crowd of the festival. A lot of locals show up purely because it's a cheap evening, often with not much interest in the acts performing, so, while the talking is an issue throughout the festival (and increasingly at gigs/fests everywhere) it's particularly rough on the Wednesday every year. I'll only bother next year if I really like the act playing.  The wristband is basically a souvenir these days, which I like, as I keep them. Also I guess for the festival it's kind of cheap advertising as people walk around the city with them on.
