Well I'm back to complaining about infection rates and Tiers.

You enjoy yourself - it is still Christmas after all.

(I went for a bike ride in the sun yesterday morning - but secretly I was still thinking about Brexit.)

Has the Xmas Day ceasefire ended yet? Am spoiling for an argument here.

COVID lost the Christmas Day football match so it’s out for payback.

Is that in the app? Or via text?

if it’s text it should have a date to end the self isolation. Chances are one of your contacts has now tested positive.

we had this when we all tested positive in the house, my wife ended up with 4 dates to isolate to.

In the app.  My only contacts who have tested positive are the 3 in my house (well 1 of and the other 2 just isolated with us).  Weird, and if I’m honest I’m not isolating again for another 10 days (not that I’m doing a lot but the dog has already been through weeks of no walks).

Journalists and experts pouring over the trade deal today, looking for bad stuff...but the bigger picture is this is a win for Bojo, and you have to give it to the twat, he does keep winning. He won london mayoral election twice in a labour city, he backed the winning side in the referendum, he became PM in the end, won a big majority for the tories and got brexit done and then did complete a trade deal with the EU within a year and delivered a hard brexit. Kind of impressive, the cockhead.

People love it. Did anyone watch the 30 years of Have I Got News on Xmas Eve? Was a v good watch generally - and also confirmed my memory that the joke was very much on him back then. Not sure how it has become that some people now think he is hilarious (let alone that that is a great qualification for the job).

Sod it, I'll dig a link out - it is Xmas after all!

The fact that people can actually be impressed by him managing a deal against all odds when twelve months ago they were saying the deal was already done is a level of cognitive dissonance I can’t get my head around.

But if we do, we effectively hit ourselves with sanctions, don't we?

has something called a rebalancing clause, where can review standards etc at any time...and then whatever comes from that, they could agree on something, or not and could be tarrifs applied. Something like that.

Basically we're going to be negotiating stuff in the background forever.

Plus, this deal doesn't even include services, so that needs sorting out.

They're not very good at this propaganda lark are they?

I think they’ve realised that they can put out/shall do whatever they want and it’ll barely make any difference sadly.

    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
