Sam Fender

Nah, they'd began their hiatus by the time the G rolled around. Talk goes they were booked in 2021 - as was Elton John - though not sure if this booking is to effectively honour that one or not. I'd doubt it, given the chat is they came in to replace Fred again. at some point.

Have banged the drum that a Sam Fender / The 1975 / Olivia Rodrigo trio would have been great, but there's definitely plenty who seemed distressed by the lack of an old-school name. Young naturally negates - some - concerns there.

Fender's health issues are potentially the weak link. You'd want him to headline, but his tendency to be forced off the road may well give pause when reaching for the phone.

Really enjoying 'Arms Length'. It keeps popping up on the radio and it draws me in!

Certainly a song that grows on you. All over BBC R1 and R2, possibly receiving more airtime than People Watching?

Blue Hat must be on good commission.

Think I read somewhere that Fender's band has the same model as the E Street Band for live performances - an even fee split for the man and his players.

I don't believe this to be anywhere near the truth, sorry!

Was slightly surprised wild long Lie was everywhere too considering it’s clearly about late night sessions on coke. 😂🤷‍♀️😂

I’ve reached the same conclusion! Also a gap in his tour from 22 June to 5 July which looks a bit suspicious … 👀 he’s in Switzerland and then Germany but that gap would give loads of time to get back to UK in between…

Hes pyramid  headliner or nothing surely … in which case one of the predictions would be wrong … interesting to see how this plays out . That hole couldn’t be for something else ?

Sam has just announced some new dates in August which added to his existing June dates means he’s not planning a summer off. Which I think means he will be at the festival.

He was already doing he dates in Newcastle in June so it was very clear already he wasn't having a summer off. He wasn't only doing an arena tour I support of new material

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
