Also Small World tent has some very lovely coffee which goes down too easily late at night and means it's in fact early at night!

It's videos like this that get me so pumped. Nothing in particular happening. But just the buzz and the sounds and the people going about their festival. I work in a hospital - do you think they can put me in a coma for 3 weeks?

We've had ones from Proper Coffee at WOMAD and they were excellent.

When I was last there in 2016 there was a nice one to the right of West Holts on the bit that takes you up to Avalon.  Small stall in a row of maybe 4 or 5 couldn't remember name but just found it thanks to Google images- called Callums.

Yes a coffee from that place with a cake and custard from the green brownie sorted me right out last time. Sadly the brownies arent as green as one would like in that way but the sugar high might be better

I have no idea how I survived festivals pre Aeropress. It's without a doubt my favourite child.

Would add my name to the list for this one - just down from the Tony Benn tower on the left hand side if I remember rightly. Normally get a paper from the Guardian stall and a coffee at that stall to start the morning off well. There is also a stall in the far left corner of Williams Green that does very nice hot chocolate made with real chocolate which is a good bit of fuel to see you through the night time festivities

Yes that place was great. We happened across it one year and it was delicious.

Can you explain why they are such a big deal? I just don't get it when I look at them online. Lots of bits and how is better than just a cafetiere? Cos we're thinking just pack the cafetiere for the caravan but have to buy a new one that isn't glass.

Not many bits just a big syringe with filter paper in. They’re the only thing I know that will do anything approaching an espresso other than a machine. I now use it at home instead of the machine because it is easier and quicker. 

If you like cafetière coffee get a plastic one. To me if you like espresso or americano coffee get an aeropress.

Thanks for that. Makes more sense now. Gonna get a stainless steel cafetiere unless himself fancies something stronger. Love strong coffee but have to limit how much I drink otherwise I'd never sleep. ?

OH got me this for my birthday as I'm the only one in the family who likes a strong coffee after dinner. Makes a large cup and is much easier to clean than a cafetiere.

Like tarw says, a very good piece of kit. I got one from my in laws, and by not pressing too quickly, I get a great espresso type coffee. I use it more in hotels (obvs not in your class of Dome chicness) where it's crap coffee, and use it with the kettle, upend it for 3-5 mins, then press to get the coffee. It was a gift, so I never had that thought about the price (generous in laws), but it's easier to use than most things as it only needs hot water, not some Philip Stark pressy plungy propane fired device in a field.

That sounds brilliant. Will have a look and see if I can justify the cost. Just saving for an awning at the moment. So might have to stick with the instant.

Remind me nearer the time, you can borrow mine. I am too knackered in the mornings and use an Italian stove top pot to just leave it brewing while I sort myself out (which I'm bringing down in the van). The main tip is to leave it disassembled, or with the seal pushed through the tube, so that it isn't left being compressed, and therefore not keeping a vacuum. It's basically 1 use per 1 person.

Hhmm I quite like the idea of the italian stove top. Forgot all about them and would actually be ideal cos dead easy to clean when you are limited in facilities. Thanks for the advice Carol. Might just try out in one of your aeropress jobbies when we call by. Or when you come to the cocktail caravan. ?

Apart from the great coffee the aero press makes, I like the fact that there is no cleaning really. Once you have pushed the coffee through, it’s just a twist of the top and a pop into the food bin. No mess. The thing is virtually clean, maybe just a quick rinse if you are anal. 

My son is a barista and swears by it.

Not got much to add to what has already been said about them other than they are also super easy to clean, make your coffee push the coffee grinds out and give a quick rinse, cafetieres are a lot messier.
