Don't think anyone is remotely arsed by Faithless these days are they? Certainly not for a slot that high up on the Other Stage.

To be fair you could have said the same thing about The Prodigy, who were originally billed for that slot. I think they'd be a good replacement personally... and Insomnia is one of the best tracks of all time to dance to at a festival!

Prodigy had a new album out and have consistently been releasing music. faithless' last album was 9 years ago. you're not wrong about insomnia being a banger though

But Prodigy have been releasing albums, and Faithless haven't done anything at all in nearly a decade.

i didn't think she was either until I looked at the charts, she had so many songs from her recent album in there. Not to mention her album doing very well on it's own merit.

I think it's ended up being a possibility and at least put her in the thinking. I'll add the fact that her set is supposed to be better in darkness.

I hope you're right! I think it'd be a great show and a really bold booking. The clash with Janelle would be really hard work but I'd lean towards Billie I think.

Just gonna throw this out there:

Slipknot.

Free on the Sunday, big booking, something different to split up the crowd, bound to create some conversation in the build up to the festival and just adds to the overall musical diversity of the lineup. Also seems like the sorta thing Corey and co. would be willing to do for the shits and giggles, (like Metallica), maybe taking a smaller fee for the exposure to a different audience. After Metallica and maybe Maiden, Slipknot are the biggest name in metal and I think they've cemented themselves as real top shelf act.

I'm not saying it's likely by any means since I can't imagine the festival coming up with Slipknot as an idea to replace the Prodigy, but just something to throw in to the conversation. I think it's more likely they have just moved some acts around to cover it, rather than booking someone as a replacement.

Also the new single is a bit of a banger. IMO best single they've released in a long time.

Edit: should also mention -  yes they're already doing Download but part of my thinking is since they would be announced late May, so close to Download, it would be allowed. Or perhaps even held off until after Download.

Yeah not gonna happen.

It's too good of a booking for it actually happen. Faithless a lot more likely unfortunately.

I always just presumed she's be a JP act which would give her the darkness and was also looking forward to the bass of Bad Guy banging about the tent. However, i going on Other means Iv ea better chance of seeing her (I tend to avoid a tent act if it's rammed) then so be it!

Faithless don't actively do anything anymore. Zero chance.

They're doing other festival dates this summer apparently. I'm not saying it'll happen... just think it's not out of the realms of possibility.

Fair play on the prodigy new album point, but they weren't exactly relevant in the same way as they were in the past. Not having loads of new material hasn't stopped acts taking big slots at glasto in the past

Billie is going to be a sub I reckon – made the case a couple weeks back but I feel it even stronger now. Could headline but it feels sensible to have her under Chris/Vampire Weekend/whoever else it is. Doesn't blow up her spot prematurely, but throws weight behind the coronation of a new megastar.

Fully agree

I'd rather Billie be other sub as I'd be more likely to see her as the clash with Janelle would be horrific however Billie as other sub and then janelle on west holts is a great Sunday night for me.

Just think she had a chance of getting the other headline slot due to her rise in popularity and being moved stages. Shes only really in darkness in the headline slot.

I’m holding out hope for Run The Jewels. It seems unlikely but they have just announced an art exhibition in london which runs from their APE date to the 30th June.

Can't see RTJ headlining unfortunately. They may well appear at the festival but they would be a very modest Other headliner. West Holts headliner will be ideal for them in a year or two.

The new Underworld single released today is a bit of a banger, and tour dates announced for the winter. Just book Rick and Karl for the Other Stage and be done with it. They won't let us down.

If Prodigy were meant to be Sat and Chems Sunday... they moved Chems to sat.... Does that mean the Courteeners will be subbing the Chems? That is all going on the rumour that was circled around that the Couteeners were subbing the Prodigy. That rumour could have been bollocks like.

My guess as it stands is Vampire Weekend or a late addition of Foals in that slot. Foals would be amazing and make my whole festival!

Somebody had info (and also possibly Neil?) that they were playing the Saturday, so must be the secret set we’ve all been expecting them to play.

Oh them good old not so secret secret sets... the JP field will have to be closed again if its there...

Would make much more sense to give them Prodigy's slot. But as long as they are on I will be happy.
