Make a fresh batch up for the evening shenanigans. @H.M.V and I agree to disagree on regular dark vs spiced rum That sounds like a bastardised Mojito with yer mint. A proper Dark and Stormy has Goslings or a dark UNspiced rum with ginger beer which provides plenty of spice and limes. I like to add Angostura bitters. Lots of ice obviously. And also no mint unless its a Mojito with soda, sugar and gold rum.
EMorgz92
An absolute banger is a 'crazy vimto'... one step up from 'cheeky vimto'.. Basically mix port, blue WKD, and vodka and then replace the usual lemonade with vodka (although less than you would add lemonade obviously). Had one half-pint of this the night before I went on holiday this year and was absolutely dead at the airport the morning after. I suspect it was my boyfriend's attempt to sabotage me for going away for 2 weeks...

Also, and just to be pedantic, you'll notice that I never referred to my mix as a D&S Edited October 25, 2018 by Quark

You don't get Angostura in a proper D&S either but I laugh in the face of rules man!
Mardy
I’m an absolute convert to ginger as a mixer. Got us through EOTR this yesr. Rum and ginger, spiced rum and ginger, vodka and ginger, gin and ginger. It’s the best.

Simpo
Pear drop vodka was a revelation last year. So tasty, so clean, so refreshing. Got a few lemonades with ice in when Foo Fighters played last year as a mixer, and I was handing them round to everyone for a drink. Unreal how refreshing and good it was after a long day drinking beers. What a friendly beautiful night that was....

I did raspberry vodka in 2017 and deffo doing it again (though I struggled with finding the right mixer?). What's the crack with pear drop vodka, simply leaving them in the vodka for a few months? Specific colours?
Stokesy10
I often drink vodka or gin and tonic, with a tiiiiiny splash of a really fruity Robinson's squash, either Apple & Pear, Summer Fruits, or one of the new Creations ones (over a bollock load of ice... this is of huge importance). It's absolutely amazing - However, I'm wondering whether tonic would go with one of the infused vodkas for GF? Or might it dilute it too much? Specific colours? Yes, just for sake of looking nice I split them into the pink and yellow varieties. They dissolve quicker than other ones I've tried and leave no unwanted residue. The strong pear taste overpowers the vodka, and could be mixed with any fruity kind of mixer. If the resale goes well I'll be making double what I did last year. Also did the Werthers originals vodka, and used that to make some toffee white russians. Nice, but a bit of a pain to infuse and filter, very very sweet and a lingering aftertaste. No such issues with the pear drops!
Supernintendo Chalmers
I'll be bringing my Jeepers Reepers vodka, which is 8 parts Finlandia with 1 part Carolina Chilli vodka (a mighty 2 million on the Scoville scale). fred quimby
Speaking last night to friends about all these concoctions on here and they have offered Tarragon Vodka which they had had the previous week. 42hamlet
There's a place in Soho that specialises in garlic infused vodka. Doesn't seem to require much planning just shove a load of garlic into a bottle of vodka and let it do its thing Doesn't sound particularly delicious but I loved it. Precisely the sort of knock-yer-socks-off thing needed for a quick morning pick me up

Crush in a freezer bag using a rolling pin/hammer/whatever you want, then pour the powdered/crushed sweets into the vodka. Seal it up, shake vigorously, (the bottle, not yourself) and place in the top shelf of a dishwasher. Put it through one cycle without a tablet and you're good to go. The heat melts the sweets. Give it a shake after, decant into plastic and enjoy!
