This is complete bollocks, go and look through the threads

That's irrelevant; they were still booked to headline the bloody festival. 😅

Has the festival had questions about it's reputation due to that booking, as people suggested it would if Arcade Fire were to be booked now?

Can't be stressed enough that even if Young Frankenstein weren't a Wrong Un the chances of Arcade Fire being asked back to headline the Pyramid are the square root of f**k all. They've not got the cachet.

Yep.

Literally the only place they’d be booked is a secret set.

Nothing else would fit.

Them playing Glastonbury or not is kinda besides the point; even if this the Glastonbury chat forum. I don't think anyone has even suggested they would headline.

Back to the point, with bookers in Europe & Ireland obviously having enough confidence in AF to book them for large shows I suspect we'll see them at APE, maybe Crystal Palace Park or Finsbury.

I don't think they wouldn't be booked again - the Other Stage is probably theirs to headline any time they want to.

But as previously mentioned, the secret set is the sweet spot for them in terms of generating hype and goodwill and them not facing the ignominy of too obvious a slide down the line up.

f**king Sleep Token adding second arena dates.

Spooky Mask and the lads entering the conversation for 2026 Headliners.

Awesome, always good to see a band I like doing well. I’d be well up for seeing them on the farm, they are excellent live.

Whats the one track you'd recommend by the Sleepsters to convince someone that they're the real deal?

The first 2 songs of the latest album are the ones that got all the streams, that’s Chokehold and The Summoning. I like those but also Dark Signs from their first album and Granite from the latest are good, not metal though.

I think they're more likely to try their luck at Download or R&L first.

They played Reading last year on one of the smaller stages. I’d imagine Download will want them if they keep selling out arenas.
I can hope for Glasto but if there’s a token heavy band I’d prefer it was Tool!

Extra dates in Dublin and London before even going on general, plus an extra night in Belfast.

They must be confident of selling very well indeed.

Since added an extra show in Manchester, Glasgow and a third night in London

It has sold ridiculously well, 14 shows already sold out, the only shows from the original announcement not currently sold out are Newcastle, Lincoln and Birmingham

And they have a number one album to boot as per today's charts.

I mean, that's truly going strong right out the gate.

Like I said, no-one batted an eyelid when GnR headlined last year; and two of their members were charged with statutory rape.

They can be booked to headline and still people bat eyelids on here? Yes they got booked, but as I said - people did bat eyelids so don't make out this forum to have no issue with it.

Given we had the nonce tent for about 15 years post John Peel's death I have no doubt they could get away with it, but its hardly worth the risk.

    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
    • A lot of people have said this online but does the Marvel world need new cities to play with? New York seems to be a target of all the villains to the point where you wonder why anyone in that world still lives there. Much as you can accuse me of overthinking it I guess haha.    I do agree that The Void is a compellingly different villain in many respects given the superpower is trapping people in their most traumatic memories. Shame in some respects the film came out in the post-Endgame funk Marvel seems stuck in and a lot of people missed out on it.    Speaking of, I rewatched Infinity War the other day. First time I think I've seen it since seeing it in the cinema on its opening day. Holds up pretty well imo - I have issues sometimes with ensemble casts and jumping between 4/5 storylines but it felt this one got the balance right and also properly explored Thanos. So it was good.
    • I didn't think I'd ever watched a Coben adaptation or read one of the original books, though turns out I did - I watched one called The Stranger back in 2020. Clearly didn't stick long in my memory as until researching it, I didn't know that was one of his. Queens Gambit or Black Mirror, it was not.    But clearly it's popular tripe in some respect if Netflix is going yes to everything he has to offer and are apparently about to start trying his most popular individual character, as seen below:   https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/jul/30/how-harlan-coben-became-the-king-of-potboiler-tv   Plus hey. Sometimes people get a kick from watching something and deriding it as crap. Don't let this internet rando stop you haha
