A lovely sunny start to the day out there, but spirit decimated by the actions again of mindless scum. 

It is difficult to stay positive sometimes in this short life of ours........

Thoughts go out today to the people of London and all those affected one way or the other; we'll done to the security services for your quick response in the face of barbaric chaos.

Glastonbury Festival can't come soon enough.

While I get the anger, and burning desire to f*** them up, and I think revenge fantasies can be fine and cathartic, but I think torturing and killing someone would irreparably change you as a person, and I'm not sure I'd like to live in a country where that kind of sadistic base instinct is carried out.

Yep, How people in the middle east have managed with all this s*** over the past decade beggars belief- they've had it on a much worse, much bigger scale, daily terrorist attacks, hundreds of thousands killed, plus military flattenings, bombings, civil wars, homes reduced to ruins- just horrific stuff.

There are arguments on both sides of the fence for this but I think as someone mentioned earlier we shouldn't let it turn this forum into a heated debate on how we deal with it. This forum is for Glastonbury festival one of the most peaceful places in the world and full of love. There have been maybe 4/5 threads in recent weeks about terrorism and security, personally I think we should not have this on here, maybe a thread so people may leave thier thoughts for the directly affected.

Lets get on with the fun and love we all associtate with each other so much.

We go out there all the time. It's such a nice area to go out for a meal and a few drinks as it's so easy to get back home on the train. Just makes me feel sad. Everyone last night was just there to have a nice Saturday evening out and the weather was so nice yesterday in London a lot of people were staying to have a drink in beer gardens and bars after a days shopping.

Yes, it's one of my favourite places to go out for exactly the same reasons. And it still will be. It's just all so sad.

After this and the Westminster attack, can't be more relieved at least we have strict gun laws in this country. Imagine either of these attacks with the attacker(s) yielding a handgun, worse still a semi-automatic weapon.

Good point and I started this thread but as it was happening I thought people should know.. I suppose it's human nature plus our need for instant news.. 

I do agree that the news channels could focus on it less but again it's news and even if you agree or disagree with your statement I'm sure nearly everyone will be watching the news.. It would be better if they changed the word terrorist to cowards or nutters or something.. Cos they are nutters..

The animosity is more deep seated throughout history than just those more recent interventions though. (I'm not suggesting we shouldn't get involved to be clear). Our reasons for intervention have also not been entirely selfless.
