Gucci Piggy
Pulp would be amazing. No idea why they wouldn't go for Macca. Can't think of anyone more ideal (in general, not for me personally) to celebrate the 50th anniversary.

Looking at when he was last booked to play and that Eavis has previously said he's glad he got him when he did.
henry bear
He's an old man, and his voice isn't quite what it was (see also, everyone else from that era), but fuck me, what a back catalogue. And he's still great live.
CaledonianGonzo
Suspect Macca will be in the same boat as most of the vintage artists in that they now take one year at a time.

Was just about to say the same. His touring schedule the last couple of years has almost certainly been played by ear. And if he wanted to do Glastonbury again then I don't really get why he'd have waited until the festival hit 50 to offer another gig. henry bear
Like I said, if he is in the frame (or the Stones etc), presumably it would be on the proviso he/they'd be still able to perform/stay alive etc. Nothing stopping them being pencilled in though. Crazyfool01
I reckon Elton could be in with a shout, big artist always seems to be touring , just right for an anniversary .. presuming he's recovered by then that is !!

True, but those two are also - like a lot of older acts that don't run on festival slots - notoriously hard to pin down for festival bookers. Their tours are finalised not far in advance and even in spite of that it doesn't seem likely that they or their people will go out of their way to say approach Glastonbury, which they've both already ticked off, because of an anniversary in three years time.
