Not a single ticket that I can recall but there were a couple of whole coaches last year who's tickets weren't on them, but they were just at gate A waiting for the coaches to arrive

I think I'd rather the whole bus didn't have tickets than just one person haha More likely to be a system error than a personal error that way!

I got the coach from Birmingham last year and it was effortless. We stopped off for half hour and as we got back on we were given our tickets, it was an anxious wait to for my name to appear on the envelope. Coming back is a bit different, there's no organisation at all to it.

I got the coach package this year and it was as smooth as anything (Thursday from Birmingham).  I was on my own and chatted all the way to a bloke sitting next to me - the whole coachload seemed very friendly.  Tickets were handed out at Gloucester services about half way and our driver insisted on ID being shown - one guy didn't have any and  he wouldn't give him his ticket - I assume he sorted it out when he got to the other end but I don't know for sure.

I only went by coach because I managed to get a ticket in the resale but would actually prefer to do it again this year even if I had a choice of how to do it.  Yes, it's a bit of a pain not being able to take loads of booze (my daughter was working there this year so she put my tent up and filled it with booze for me) but I'm sure I'll manage.

I can't remember the exact times but there is a good few options from early Wednesday to late Thursday for London. The early ones will sell out the quickest

Ah now that's an interesting question, not having booked coach package before.

When you get on the booking pages does it just grey out the packages that are sold out?  I'm assuming you don't have to select a time / package, click through only to find it's sold out and then have to go back to the start?

Well quite often one of the packages will sell out after the page has loaded, in which case you hit back and try again.

Got the coach this year and no problem at all, except for the dodgy scouser lad going through the tickets on the coach to see if anyone hadn't collected theirs..

Yay, the first scouser baiting post for next years festival. Was he the driver by any chance?

ah you were in the coach behind ours then I think! I remember being gutted because our coach had naff all and the coach behind had the football on!

All the delays did seem to foster a stronger together experience between everyone on the coach.

I wanted to get quite drunk but had to restrict myself due to the walk when we got there!

That was our coach yes!! We even had chips delivered. Was alright.. couldn't complain!!

Ah it was tongue in cheek! No offence intended.

It did actually happen though in all seriousness.

Wasn't the photo on the ticket enough id?

I suppose that depends how anal the driver is about his/her job. ive got the 3.45pm from taunton the last 2 years and I get the feeling it's the drivers 2nd or 3rd run of the day by which time they don't care about id or anything like that and just want to finish their shift & get the rowdy coach load of half cut people off as quick as possible. I imagine the earlier coaches might be a little more strict

I think the options from London are on the hour aren't they? ie. 6am, 7am, 8am etc etc...

And yeah you do have to go back out and in when they say "sold out". I had an absolute mare with this last year, just stuck in an internal loop of trying to find coaches that were available. It kept saying some were sold out and then coming back on. Didn't get tickets :(

Would echo what others say overall. I've never been asked for ID but do always bring it. I think it's just the lead booker that needs it, though? The one who gets the coach tickets emailed to them.

Monday is always chaos but you can use that to your advantage because you can pretty much get on any coach - no one checks. Always keep my return ticket in the lockup just in case I do need it though.

I'm not 100% sure but I seem to remember that there was a drop down box to select the number of tickets you'd like. I think I can remember clicking on that a few times and finding the only option was 0.

There does seem to be a bit of a delay on the site before it actually says sold out. It's the same with General tickets - I know from bitter experience that you can enter your reg details but then find yourself back on the same page with a 'tickets are currently unavailable ' message hidden halfway down the page. It takes a few minutes before it redirects to a Sold Out page. Quite confusing the first time it happens.

Yeah, that rings a bill actually. It kept saying 0 on everything I selected way before they were actually sold out. Convinced it was a glitch to be honest.

Before last year I always found the coach sales much easier though...

Yeah, I suspect that nowadays many people now have duplicate registrations and use the coach sale as a backup.

Edit: it also grinds my gears when the inevitable 'when do they give you your festival tickets on the coach?' questions pop up. You've got a f'kin ticket so just use the bloody coach for the purpose it was intended! <_<

Yeah same. If you don't want to get the coach then don't bloody get a coach ticket. Or accept that you will have to go by coach if you do.

I've always been a 'non coach' person but after missing out this year I'm definitely seeing the beauty in trying for a coach ticket and I will bloody appreciate that coach trip and ticket!

Got tickets in the general sale last year and booked coach from Edinburgh via National Express. While having an extra shot at getting tickets is appealing, the main thing stopping me is not being able to pick departure time. I like the idea of being able to be sure I am getting the earliest available coach so I can be opening my first can at the farm early Wednesday morning, not at some unknown time of day which will be revealed to me much closer to the festival. Say I tried for tickets on Thursday and got them, then tried again on Sunday and got them again. Would I be able to cancel my coach packages and just take the general tickets? I take it that would just be too convenient therefore not possible?

If you purchased coach tickets with your reg number I'm assuming you would be unable to use that same registration number to book GA tickets.

Yeah not possible you can't buy any more tickets with the same reg. if you're successful Thursday you'll have to stick with what you get (although any tickets are good!!!)

Agreed!

Last year I spent 14 hours on a coach (much like everyone else but in cars etc) I didn't get to the farm till around 10pm, after leaving early in the morning on the coach. I assure you, I wasn't annoyed - I was thrilled to me at the festival. And will take whatever time they give me.

Going to be trying from Cardiff for next year, as we will be staying at a friends house the night before the festival, and having an extra day off work to travel home. Got a weird nervous feeling that changing from our usual plan will make it harder to get tickets.. it's the whole 'what ifs' scenario.

I will be calling my bank to make sure they know I will be purchasing Glastonbury tickets so the fraud team don't block the payment like idiots!

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
