Since 1999 I have only missed one in 2013 as unable to get a ticket.

Did not bother this year .  It started off badly when I found out we were getting Muse and Coldplay AGAIN !!!!!

Sat here on a day off listening to some of the line up at ETOR , excited about Mothers and Weaves and Thee Oh Sees and seeing Savages who play the JP this year. Wonder what state that ground is down there! Consoling myself with a bottle vino !

Missed last year through choice,  but failed to get tickets this year. Been about 20 times so it hurts big time.

Currently sitting on a campsite in Derbyshire with a bottle of wine listening to Marc Riley on 6 music...

I'm missing out for the first time since 2005. Very weird feeling knowing Glastonbury is happening right now and not being there.

Missed out in the original sale and then started a new job end of April so have had time to come to terms with it. Strange but coping with missing out better than I expected.

It's been a difficult start to the weekend down on the farm but I wish everyone a cracking weekend :-)

The photographs of the site are making me miss it so much more, the mud and traffic wouldn't matter it's glorious there.

First time I'm not there since 2008. I keep reminding myself that yes none of my close friends got tickets so it wouldn't be the same, and to be fair I had three amazing years there and three years that had their up's and downs, the lineup was on the weaker side for my tastes with a lot of clashes on things i would want to see, but then i remember 2013, barely seeing any music and just enjoying the atmosphere and catching up with new and old friends and it was just the most amazing festival, 2009 was brilliant as a newbie and 2010 was life changing and just the peak of all the twenty plus festivals i've attended now.

It would seem turning to drink is proving effective at helping! That sounds like a wonderful evening. I'm curled up on the sofa with some whisky watching Netflix. Feeling a bit emotional about it all. I kept telling myself it would be ok but I feel like I should have booked a short break to get away from it!

This is what my hubby seems to be embracing - drink through the misery...being pregnant means this is not an option for me. I seem to be trying to eat through it,but nothing tastes as good as a lovely Buddha bowl or Goan curry would taste in a Somerset field right now!

1st time since 1994 I been at home for the whole of glasto , can't get away from glasto it's everywhere on every radio station I put on ,  I was not that bothered last week about not going , now it's doing my head in , I was secretly hoping it would piss it down for the whole of the festival, just to  put people of going next year , so tickets might be easier to get in October , this is harder than I fought it would be not being there

Couldn't get a ticket this year, feeling down knowing can't go.

Tried to break in last night with telescopic ladder, camo gear, gloves etc.. obviously got caught, it's impossible!! Security were very nice, but looking over at Glastonbury at night and seeing the flames of Arcadia lighting up the valley and coming so close, got the ladder to the fence then got caught is painful. being so close and yet so far, don't how to fill the weekend now, even though there is some good stuff going on. It seems that everyone talks about Glasto, u cant forget it's there having fun without you :( gutted. Tried hardest, could get tickets in the 3 sales, couldn't volunteer due to exam schedule, sad times

how to fill the void left by this weekend

Miserable is the only way I can describe how it feels...

Last year was horrific for me, group of approx 10 of us and I was literally the only 1 who didn't get a ticket... That was torture! Where as this is unpleasant.

Does anyone know if there is any way to get in for Sunday? I have heard before that with all of the day trippers arriving it is a far more relaxed feel to entry and therefore a lot easier to get in.

It might only be 1 day, but considering how I feel right now I would take that no doubt!

This is the 3rd year in a row I've missed with either being pregnant or busy looking after a little one.  I was hoping to go this year but got pregnant faster than I thought and so didn't get a ticket.   Prior to these 3 years off I'd done about 14 in a row.  Hoping to go back in the next few years maybe with kids or maybe without.. I'd probably like one more big party glasto where I get back to the late night wanderings and messy fun times..  But I'm also looking forward to sharing the magic of it all with my sons too..

Not sure if you do go to other festivals or not but some smaller and equally family friendly ones are great. My advice would be to go to Shambala. The second year that I went and the first with my now wife was enlightening. My wife said to me that in the several days that we were there that she never heard a child cry. This hit home with me when she said it. She was right - the children were all happy as fuck - and so were the adults.

It hasn't bothered me as much as I thought it would not being there, had a little pang watching the live coverage of foals though. I've enjoyed watching the footage on Iplayer.

That being said I had good adulting reasons to miss this year, no such excuse next year, if I miss two in a row it might destroy me
