Much more to be announced

Does anyone know if there's many more acts are to be announced and when the lineup is normally finalised?

Do you think most of the big slots are now filled or is it likely there will be more announcements for West holts, other, jp, park etc.?

For me this seems to be the worst lineup for years and is lacking behind alot of the other European festivals so I'm hoping there's plenty more to come

Hi Chestwig.

:D

Good and bad day for TheThingy today. Got retweeted by BBC Glasto so picked up a lot of new followers, then realised Pyramid was spelt wrong in the tweet.

I've had words and TheThingy promises to do better in future.

It would never happen, but how great I think it would be if the lineup was never announced and still maintained the size. You'd show up to the fest, pitch your tent and everyday and every act would be a total surprise.

Just sit back and ponder how that would go. I think it would be spectacular.

We get lots of people saying this every year but in reality it'd be rubbish.

You'd miss loads of acts you'd have enjoyed because you had no chance to check out acts on the lineup beforehand, and you'd lose a fair amount of those first couple of days working out a plan of who to see.

Actually judging by your post do you mean we wouldn't even find out while we were there until each act walks out on stage? That'd be absolutely terrible. Imagine being at the Other Stage when Jake Bugg walks on and you find out later on that Radiohead were on the Pyramid Stage at the same time.

yeah but how would you decide which stage to go to?

-turn up to a stage 'oh fucking hell, Two Door Cinema Club!?' -run to next stage- 'oh for fuck sake i missed all of the Radiohead secret set' - run to the next stage 'oh CHRIST, TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB AGAIN!?'-

Nah. Imagine getting home and finding you've missed a load of bands you like cos you were watching something that was alright on another stage.

Besides, investigating bands on the bill you don't know before hand is all part of it.

Haha you do make fair points. At the same time when Foo Fighters did their secret act last year as just a random one off concert I kind of pictured it more like that. If you happened to be lucky enough to be hanging out and Radio Head jumps on stage it would blow your mind. Kind of like when Daft Punk showed up at Coachella in 2007.I did indeed mean you'd never find out. I was more picturing a lot more community involvement and such. Regardless it'll never happen.

The biggest downfall as I think about it more is people would be more glued to their mobiles than they already are trying to check social media and stuff rather than goign with the flow.

I feel as if The Libertines and The Strypes shouldn't count on that list, considering they replaced acts that were on the poster.

It depends on whether you prefer them to the bands they replaced though. :)

It won't happen, as you say, but you could do what I do.. A cursory look at the lineup, forget most of it, crack on regardless.

There are probably about another 900 acts to be announced, that's why you may have detected some subtle sarcasm ;)

    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.
