Hi All!

I am new here and it will be my first Glastonbury after years of trying for tickets!

On the topic of festivals.. I am currently in my third year studying events management and writing up my dissertation, in which i am exploring the impact of crowd behaviour on attendee experience at large outdoor UK music festivals,

For my research I am looking to gather 100 (completely anonymous) responses, to hear your opinions which will help shape my research! If you could take 2 mins to fill out my questionnaire that will be greatly appreciated 🙂 !

I will put the link below, thanks all!

Aussie first time attender. Missed out on tickets so threw myself to the mercy of my industry contacts and managed to get 2 hospitality tickets. We will be bringing our 7 and 10 year old kids (still can't believe they can just waltz in after all the hassle we had to go to!) Pumped for Charlie XCX, Ash, Confidence Man Dj set, Alanis M and plenty of others. We're getting a Podpads bell tent with power, and bringing a Starlink, so if you're in our vicinity I'll give you the password. Am 55 and this was on my bucket list so damned if my family aren't going to be dragged along with me (though the kids are excited for Olivia Rodrigo and Grace Tame.)

Northerner who last attended Glasto back in 2013. Managed to bag a ticket working with the recycling team and super excited to be back at beat festival in the world!

Welcome back! I’ve done recycle crew, enjoyed it and would love to do it again. Do you know what crew you’re on yet?

Long-time lurker. Finally a poster.

2025 will be my 4th Glasto (2010, 2022, 2024). Have flirted with a few other festivals in my time. Group this year shrunk to just 4 (2 couples). Looking forward to a different experience than the larger group set ups of old.

Hi All.  57 year old from South Manchester attending for 2nd time with my wife, daughter and her boyfriend.  Only got into festivals in last 8 years or so after picking my daughter up from Leeds and attending for the day then. Been to Boardmasters once and Leeds a few times (staying in hotel and bus in everyday).  She has seen the 1975 many times, ever since they started out locally so is super excited by that alone.  Some great reading and advice on her here from you all - thank you.  We are on a coach from Bath on Thursday this time so will stay there the night before.  Currently trying to work out what we can ram into the rucksack or can reasonably get on the coach and be able to carry.  Also the optimum drink to take based on taste/alcoholic level/size and where my daughter should look to camp arriving at that time.  We have a tent at Worthy so no issues other than the walk there.  Sure I’ll work it all out.  Thanks again for all the great info and advice - it’s a real help.  Ian

so advice for the coach if its see tickets is you will be allowed a large backpack , a carry on bag , and a tent ... you can attach some things to outside of backpack ... personally id recommend spirits ( in plastic well sealed bottles ) rather than cans which take up too much space id pack stuff inside bin bags incase it rains . medical stuff and food / snacks in bag on coach maybe power bank and cables too . if you can get mates or anyone to bring cans in cars and pop out later to get those . Thursday coach id imagine youd be looking at South Park or darble but there should be a board as you enter showing how full campsites are and of course welcome to efestivals and posting

Thanks for this.  That seems the consensus from what I've read on here

If they're staying in Worthy View do they still have that shuttle they can use?

Yep somehow I managed to miss half the post . Yep shuttle over should be fine with minimal queue then

@Ballian67 hope you know about that?

"There is no shuttle/ transport service available directly from Worthy View onto the Festival site, there is however a shuttle from the Festival Bus Station for customers that arrive by coach or bus."

I did thanks.  From what I've read it can be a wait for the shuttle bus vs a fairly lengthy walk.  Don't mind the latter depending on weather and how well we have managed to pack efficiently

It’s a lengthy walk and finishing up a very very steep hill by Strummerville and up to Worthy View so you might want to get the shuttle if you do have alot of stuff!

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
