This. It sounds amazing.

Having said that there's some awesome to be found in the fields (Goan Fish Curry anyone?) for a fraction of the price.

Indeed ....

(Although I was intrigued to see that they've 'only' been there since 2005)

Has anybody ever tried this? Looks tasty!

Did the sunday roast last year and was lovely. Already booked mine this year with an 'early invite' at the end of March as they sell out quite quickly :-)

Isn't the food enough for you?

Usually except like today when I'm on night shift and having to make do with sandwiches. Food envy

Yeah seems that they have some good feedback, I have sent a message out to a few friends to try to tempt them into trying it on the Wednesday. Sunday would be out of the question, too much craziness by then. My belly wouldn't take a Sunday roast

Sunday roast is exactly what I need! Usually flagging a bit by then so a nice roast really sets you up for the final day's madness.

no but my guess is that the promoters have a sort of gentleman's agreement as to not all announce on the same day - you don't often (if ever?) see it happening with UK fests

it's happened plenty of times, although usually involving smaller festivals, but that's because there's far more of them than big ones.

the chances of any big festivals announcing on the same day are slim, because of how many different days and how few "big" festivals there are.

promoters may be aware of when others are announcing, but they're very unlikely to actually have any arrangements with one another except in exceptional circumstances, eg. shared headliners having contractual agreements precluding both from being announced on the same day.

Only one man can answer that... Neil?

I've absolutely no idea either way.

We do have a theory here in efestivals basements that we use to rule out the chances of an announcement, and when we apply that theory we can't rule out an announcement today ... so I'm sort-of expecting it.

If it's not today, do you think we are talking weeks before we get it?

I'm thinking they'll probably be an announcement this week. So if not today, tomorrow.

But I also thought they'd be one last week, so what do I know?

Emily said April, so at worst we're probably looking at the end of next week.

I've been in the park all afternoon (we're currently experiencing what can only be described as a relative heatwave in Glasgow over the last 48 hours), had not expected to log back in here and see this kinda talk. I've always been a Thursday 21st April kinda guy!

    • Doesn't surprise me. West Yorkshire had a vote if they wanted a mayor in 2012 and voted no. The government then ignored the vote and announced the position anyway in 2016.

    • Also agree, it does feel that there isn’t much between the Mercury Prize and the Brit Awards these days.   This part sums it up for me “The complaint isn’t so much about the quality of the music, but more the disappearance of spaces for outsider voices in British music. With streaming algorithms feeling increasingly geared towards big names, and social media acting as a minefield, the Mercury’s pivot to the mainstream closes another door in the face of creative independence.”
