Well...

...it was MISPЯINT

With the 'R' reversed like that on our hand-screen-printed t-shirts.

Because we were fucking cool.

Ben

That's the coolest thing I've ever seen.

It was thirty years ago, Phil! now, I'm a bloody t-shirt obsessive, but even I haven't managed to hold on to one of those bad boys.

They were great, though - all individually numbered, and the band got nos. 1-6, obvs.

I was No.2 as I played hooker in rugby, so it was my fav number. And no, it was bloody state school, before you start the casual stereotyping!

Darn, never mind. If it were me I'd have that in a vault somewhere, ready for the reunion tour.

And don't worry, I don't care about that stuff...some of my best friends played hooker at school.

I'd love to see First Aid Kit there, be even better if they did 'America' with Art Garfunkel.

Agree - I assume you would have seen the clip of them performing Emmylou for the Beeb a couple years back I think. Just glorious

Recommendations would be very welcome thanks.

Kurt Vile is a must see for me this year. Will also likely check out John Grant, Art Garfunkel and Band Of Horses.

Anyone else on the bill I should be noticing?

If something is not strictly under those "labels" but along a similar American Indie vein then that'll be cool too.

John Grant is essential for me

I love a bit of Americana and nothing encapsulates that any better than the truly fantastic Danny and the Champions of The World. I hope they appear on the bill but they don't have much space on their scheduled around that time. If their name appears, file as "must see"

I'm on thin Americana ice here, but:

Midlake - The Trials of Van Occupanther

An absolute understated, never get bored, triumph. Brilliant.

A triumph? Undoubtedly

Brilliant? Unquestionably

Americana? Nuh-uh!

Behave, Woffster...

:)

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
