Weezer are one of my favourite bands of all time but I'm still royally fucked off with how they handled this tour. They have continually shafted the UK fans when there is clearly huge demand for them over here.

That being said, Weezer to headline Other stage 2017!

Every single time. They just end up playing one date in Manchester and one in London. It's ridiculous.

That all being said, I think they deserve to be headliner status one day.

Well I mean, they're doing three European shows and two are in the UK, and there are some big countries they haven't played even a festival in for ten to twenty years, so we're actually the fortunate ones. :P

do you think they'll end up at reading/leeds then? see they are playing japan the week before so definitely still touring around those dates

i have tickets for weezer at brixton but might sell them on and get day tickets if they are playing one of the days at reading. wish it was properly confirmed before tomorrow so i could make up my mind!

tbh there really doesn't seem to be much room for them on the R/L lineup, and i don't see why they would've been held back for the second announcement. i think his 'see you at Reading, Leeds, Glastonbury' comment was meaning more 'in the next few years' as an acknowledgement that they'll make an effort to do more UK stuff rather than be there this year

yep i might go with that reasoning and just bin the reading idea - especially since each day is pretty weak overall anyway and i already have brixton tickets!

i guess i was thinking they might have been held back to add on to a day that isn't selling so well but yeah no guarantees and maybe rivers just thought it would get some online buzz for their album this week and said it even if they aren't booked this year

Off to see them tomorrow at Brixton. Saw them last time at Brixton in 2010 and played a blue/pinkerton heavy set. They would be a great party band at Glastonbury but doubt they will get booked.

1. Pinkerton

2. Blue

3. White

4. Red

5. Everything Will Be Ok In The End

6.  Green

7. Hurley

8 . Raditude

9. Make Believe

Blue/Pinkerton/White/Everything/Green/Hurley/Red/Make Believe/Raditude (for me). It's really only the last of those that I can hardly listen to.

Their touring is a mess, but at least they're making decent music again... new album is probably the first good one since Pinkerton. That's about 20 years of awful music from them, after making 2 masterpieces. Wonder what went wrong.

Consistency is their only problem. Some of Weezer's best songs come from albums that aren't Blue or Pinkerton, those albums just aren't great from start to finish like the first two.

Imagine an album with Hash Pipe / Island In The Sun / Dope Nose / Keep Fishin' / Beverly Hills / Greatest Man That Ever Lived / Pork & Beans / Angel & The One / If You're Wondering If I Want You To / Memories / Back To The Shack. It would blow The Blue Album out of the water.

I would blow most albums out of the water to be honest. Love Island In The Sun.

Some of these are good tunes but there are only a few that actually stand with Blue & Pinkerton tunes. Actually, some of the b-sides from that early era are amazing, as good as the album tracks. 'Devotion' would have been perfect on Pinkerton, it's an amazing song. I also really like 'Tragic Girl'.

There's probably a village fete, flower show, vegetable competition. I dunno.

Did he specify music festivals?

There's another music festival near in glastonbury called godney gathering. But I doubt very much weezer would play there.

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
    • This Isaac wood news has dropped right out of left field. Great to hear he feels up to doing live stuff again    what will he play? Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
    • Wow, Blink-182 back so soon. They’re the band they’ve never booked then. Great booking if they’ve got them.    Deftones, Papa Roach, Knocked Loose   Lamb of God   Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte   Megadeth   Slipknot, Gojira, Motionless In White   All Time Low
