I'll be bringing 10l of good quality boxed red wine, didn't finish it last year and don't expect to this year but its good stuff and can be drank warm. Ill just buy cider and cocktails there and have them nice and cold in the sun

You'd better lower those tastes when you go to the on site bars ;)

Last year we found that a couple didn't even give you any ice in a G&T.  The best one was in the greenpeace field where you could have Tanqueray, I think they even put ice and a slice in.  Doubtless the tonic was not posh, but you could certainly taste the difference from the other gins.

Luckily for me you can get fresh custard tarts at the other end of that field and I'm mr greedy :D

i would never buy spirit and mixers on the bar at a festival, awful value for money! all i buy is a cold pint, limited to 2 per day. i cant bring myself to purchase when you can bring all your own

i guess over the course of a day i probably drink about 4-5 cans of 500ml at 4-5%, plus plenty of boxed 7% cider, but that is literally over the course of 12mid day to 2-3am so 15 hours. not too bad when spaced out.

i am less likely to have a hangover at glasto than any normal night out as the drinking is spaced out so much rather than all in a few hours

Ah well,  I'm  an old git you see,  so I'm a lightweight (don't drink much),  bought my house twenty years ago so am very lucky if was cheap and is paid off and thirdly am way past the years of carrying loads of booze -  we take some for when we're at stages and supplement with a few bar drinks.

Our local Lidl has this ‘Festbier’ in at min, not too bad for 99p a tin and stronger than most other premium lager at 5.5%. Did a warm test and it’s not too bad, I’ve never been brave enough to the do the lukewarm lager thing but purely because of the name I’m tempted.

I have 2 questions to ask here

1. Has anyone tried to strongbow cloudy Apple yet and if so what's it like.

I took some of the citrus edge the other year and I wasn't really a fan.

2. Also does anyone have a link to the supermarket alcohol spreadsheet. Thanks

Cookatoo menu - I had the Turtle Dove..what's also good in that field is the Theatre bar further up the field that sells supper strength Swedish & Belgian, that whole area is just like awesome!! :D

And the girls that run it are a great laugh. Defo rocket fuel cocktails too.

Cans of Tribute will be a key part of my Glasto diet again this year. If you hear of it going on offer please post it on here!

Keep an eye out for free delivery days, usually happen around things like Father's Day/bank holidays. Managed to get 72cans for £76 a couple of weeks ago.

I've only recently discovered amaretto and I have to say... it's proper lush. I'll be reducing the amount of flavoured vodka I make this year, and I'll be mixing some amaretto and cherry coke as well.

Yes! Amaretto and cherry coke is one of my all time favourites. I can taste it just thinking about it

Cloudy Apple is beautiful. It's much smoother and sweeter than original Strongbow. Makes me belch less :D

I'm only doing Friday morning - Sunday night this year so won't be needing as much. But last year I took a mixture of cider & larger and I don't know if my palette has changed but I couldn't hack warm tins of cider. So I'm going pure larger on the daily's with a few premix g&t cans in the early evening.

One success story from last year was 1/4 ration Bacardi & red bull in litre bottles of the cheap adsa stuff for a late night drink or a caffeine heavy hair of the dog.

You guys/girls are very organized regarding the important matter of booze. This is my first glasto and I have no idea what and how much to take..

I'm a Guinness man myself but not a fan of drinking the stuff warm. will probably take in enough of the black stuff to last the first day then just drink whatever we fancy from one of the many bars on site..

Have been drinking Rock Rose Gin lately, it comes in ceramic bottles, given it isn't glass, does anyone know if that means it's allowed, figure it'll keep cooler than in plastic?

If it's breakable and could be deemed by them to hurt a cow, then it wouldn't be allowed.

Can definitely recommend the cocktails here - especially the turtle dove!

Look for the Red camper van!

Nice one, cheers! Although 72 cans is rather a lot...

Last year I took: 1.5L Cucumber infused Gin, 42 cans of Budweiser (I really don't mind it warm), 500ml Brandy, Bag of Cider in a Box, 70cl of Jagermeister and 3L of boxed White Wine, but never drank the wine and ran out Sunday afternoon then a tent neighbour gave me more gin.

This year the plan is: 1.5L Cucumber infused Gin, 48 cans of Budweiser, 70cl Bourbon, bag of cider in a box and to buy more drinks from the bars this year as in the past I've neglected them!
