Non-slip Sleeping Bags?

McCor

Recommended Posts

Last year I had the misfortune of camping on a slope, with a self inflating mattress and sleeping bag.

The only thing that kept me from sleeping was slipping down the tent!!

Any recommendations for non-slip sleeping bags?

The key with a sleeping bag is a good cotton liner - and a pillow.  Really makes a difference.

The key is to buy a sleeping pod rather than the usual coffin shaped and coffin confining sleeping bags of old. You can wriggle about in them to your hearts content.

As an aside, one of my friends once was so pissed he couldn't find the open end of his sleeping bag to get in to it. The end result was that he slashed the closed end open with a knife and got his way in to it that way - more of a sleeping tube than a bag at that stage.

My wife makes a lovely little sleeping quarters , double air bed with a quilt cover pulled over it then a quilt cover and and two unzipped sleeping bags for warmth as well as a couple of decent pillows . It's a little extra to carry but it's worth it in the end . A small snipet in the backimage.thumb.png.6707242925b2f8973644e37aground

Pitch the tent so that it is facing down the field and sleep with your head at the top

This is what I do, but on years where I've had a bit of a slope I've also found that slippage is a problem.  I reckon a good 1/3 of the camping spaces are on a slope of some sort, so it's a good question.  The year I camped in South Park it was particularly noticeable, I must have had to wriggle back up the hill like a drunk caterpillar about 6 times a night.

By which I meant room enough to get a good w*nk in without feeling confined.

That was universally understood, right?

Alas, we may not be going to Glastonbury this year despite having tickets. A friend has just bought Shambala tickets to celebrate her husband's 50th birthday and so we've had to buy tickets for that. I'm not too sure that we'll be able to go to both so may have to drop out of Glastonbury.
