This is the kind of rumour we like to mix things up a bit!

But it sounds completely implausible to me. Like others, the only way I can see it is if they're headlining Other at the same time as Adele. In that case I would think BMTH would sub them, and if we're thinking they're Sunday, could Adele actually be Sunday too?

Or maybe Adele is 'headlining' but Muse are on after on the Pyramid? A co-headline possibly?

Totally bonkers rumour!

Muse have been one of my favourite bands since I first went to see them in 2003, and I still love them live despite disliking a lot of their new material, but I'm increasingly worried that if they are playing and not headlining that we might get Drones - The Musical

if they play they will only headline, why would you even think otherwise?

Some people have mentioned it, but is there no chance at all that they could be adding an extra day of music on the Thursday and Muse are the fourth headline act? Are there any concrete reasons why that absolutely couldn't happen? (genuinely asking)

Licensing reasons I'd wager.

And there's 0% chance they'd have Muse at William's Green on the Thursday. Would be dangerous!

I nearly got killed at Wolf Alice last year so I hate to think what'd happen if Muse played there...!

I think I only know a handful of people who like her, but she's the biggest artist on earth at the minute (somehow).

Self fulfilling prophecy, everyone keeps banging on about it, eventually everyone gives and goes out of curiosity to see the crowd size/what Adele will actually do.

Muse doing a secret set? Mhmm possible, they did those smaller club shows, maybe they asked to do a secret John Peel set or something? Seems ludicrous but if they could keep it under wraps/had the right size other acts going on.

I wouldn't see the point in them doing the Other stage as a headliner, their current show is going have to have be cut down for festivals anyway. (As it is most years they tour with a massive new set)

Like neil alluded to, the only way that happens is if they're on at same time as Led Zeppelin or Stones or a resurrected Beatles or omesuch

nope, that's not what I alluded to.

I simply used to stones to demonstrate that the audience for Muse on the other stage can be tempered by the competition they might have at the same time.

The suggestion made to me - which I don't know to be true - is that they might play Pyramid but not as headliner.

I didn't know the suggestion to you was that they might play the pyramid but not headline, that is interesting, surely they wouldn't sub? That would then leave the legend slot, which would be, I dunno weird maybe?

Muse headlining, but with Adele on drums.

Picture it: Adele's on stage, belting out her stuff a capella "Nevermind I'll find someone like..... MUUUUSSSSE!"

The boys drop from the rafters on wires and fire straight into Plug In Baby while Adele headbangs along below.

And thus, Glastonbury history is made.

Muse playing the Pyramid but not headlining? nah, i just don't see it, unless, like i said earlier, they were DESPERATE to play again but the headliners were booked up so they agreed to sub/a lower position, but that'd be like something we've never seen before and it'd be impossible to argue that they were essentially a fourth headliner

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
