Shorter set, fans near the front more interested in getting a good spot to see Adele, wouldn't you rather them headline next year?

I know for a fact that I can't go next year so for me I'd love for it them to play this year

I also think a sub slot would still be epic from them, seeing the sun go down and they smash out an hour of joy, how can you be upset about that?

As much as I don't think it means anything, it's incredibly easy to see the Pyramid Stage in that latest pic, and even the crowd in front of it sort of.

Edit: Even the boundary between green and black is the same as the line of trees on the pic on the right.

No it's not. Seeing Radiohead subbing  Adele would be wonderful. Seeing them headline, more so.

Pissing yourself is horrible, pissing in the toilet is fine, I suppose it's quite nice if you really need to go.

I wasn't there, but didn't Pharrell actually go down alright.

On the walk back from a blinding evening's entertainment at the Park on the Saturday against the throng returning from Pharrell > Kanye the background chit chat was mainly:

Pharrell - ace.

Kanye - disappointment.

I turned up mid-way through Pharrell as I had nothing to do after Akala and the mate I was with was staying in Leftfield for Shikari. It was pretty much the worst set I've ever seen, but it seemed to be going down well with the majority.

Edit: Coincidentally some of the sets vying with it for that title are Shikari sets.

Probably already been posted but this topics way too busy to look back on, interesting interview that's sure to get some here excited.

Yes, another topic created this evening, where people seem to think that part of the impetus for it being reported more widely is this very thread a wee while back.

I enjoyed P. He's got some back catalogue to choose from.

A few guest spots wouldn't havever gone amiss.

@Will-2609 where did you see Akala as I left Kanye early to go see him at The Rum Shack.

Did he play Rum Shack Saturday night as well? I saw him in the Rum Shack Thursday night and then in Leftfield on Saturday evening between Father John Misty and Kanye. Think he must have started a little bit before Pharrell started on the Pyramid.

Edit: 7:30 on Leftfield. Pharrell started at 8.

I heard a few gripes re. that on here, but I don't think I saw anything conclusive on it.

I was just reading this.

The quote "Here are five girls... women! Who all have incredible minds that control incredible bodies", that's pretty cringey. Not Catfish levels but yeah.

I did think he went down like a lead balloon and I can't find anything confirming that so maybe I'm wrong. Hopefully Kendrick/Radiohead/anyone else good who it might be can channel Pharrell and his baes rather than Jack White, then.

I can't remember it too clearly but I'm pretty sure he was saying stuff like that throughout the entire set. And yeah, as you say, it was very cringey.

He went down like a lead balloon on here which is probably what you're thinking of, but to the less discerning majority at the Pyramid Stage I think it went down well. A couple of my friends who were down the front for the whole set enjoyed it.

Honestly don't know if you're trying to hold onto hope or you're a member of the fucking illuminati with that drawing

Haha I was gonna say, I just looked at the lineup and he didn't seem to be in the Rum Shack on Thursday.

Just to let you know, in case you hadn't seen, I saw the other day that he's playing the Riverside later this year. Was gonna grab tix but he's playing Citadel so I'm gonna hold off for a while.

Whilst we're on the topic, thanks dental (I think) for recommending him last year as he was one of my highlights of the festival.

Haha I'm not using that picture to hold onto hope. As has been said, I think it's just artwork from the album, and it would be baffling to use that to hint at a Pyramid set. I was just showing that it definitely does look like it, to make those people feel better who are wondering if they're going insane by thinking it does.

It probably wasn't me. I like him, but I don't think I'd be the one urging people to go along considering I was elsewhere for both sets.

To be fair I don't think you were urging people to go; I think I just saw you post about how you used to listen to him a lot or something so I checked him out.

Recommendation was probably the wrong word :P

Yeah we're going to see him at the Riverside. Saw him the Thursday at Rum Shack. Excellent he was.

    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
    • Can't see Bimble line up anywhere - am I being dense and missing an obvious release somewhere?
    • Not expecting a tour imminently but Peter Gabriel would fit the vibes magnificently.
    • I have but a very long time ago and can remember nothing about it at all. Which I suppose is a review of sorts
    • Addison Rae has 33m instagram followers, Slayyyter 667k. Also 15 to 7,5 million spotify listeners with Addison's last release being more than a year ago. Obviously these metrics aren't everything, but still there is a big gap in popularity between the two.
