I got to Bruce's show 3 hours early at Wembley and still couldn't get into the pit. Those fans or something else.

You only have your self to blame for not going to collect your line number and then spending the next 72 hours attending the regular roll calls.

Neil, have you tried ringing him yet today?  Sure he'll be up :)

have exchanged emails and given him a number that works, but he didn't say in the email and hasn't rung.... so it might be that he was phoning to say no luck. :(

I remain hopeful.

I love to hate on U2, but wasn't that around the time when they were actually a decent band?

I'll take that defence and run with it.

I got into music relatively late. My parents were...'amusical'. I listened to U2 'cos all my mates did, but then got overly obsessed for a bit. I was at the first gig in Paris (alone again) after Achtung Baby was released.

Soon after I discovered that I could get even more obsessed about other music that was out there. Partly Morrissey's fault!

also excited to finally experience one of these 'London crowds' i've heard so much about, although i'm sure Radiohead fans paying £70 a pop will be more enthusiastic than your average gig

Don't bet on it.  Last few times I've seen Radiohead in London, I had plenty of space to dance while on the barrier.  That doesn't happen further north and it's quite an enjoyable novelty.  It's a strange place, that there London.

Out of interest Claire, what RH songs did you dance to?

Reckoner for one.  :)  I Might Be Wrong is always good for a shoogle.  Myxo, Gloaming...

Yep. Good point(s). I only ask as - if they play Glastonbury and lots of LP9 - I've been wondering what I'll be doing with my limbs exactly.

Disn't even bother going for Roundhouse tickets as I have yet another new child.

Do you need a chat about how that keeps on happening...?

Mates' rates.

8am in Amsterdam. Over 20 queuing already.

We will be in the queue at 1530, should probably take binoculars

I remember when I was about 15/16 I queued all day at the Astoria to get on the front barrier for Trivium, I left the queue with an hour to go and my mates saved me a space as we were drinking beer all day and I just couldn't wait any longer for a piss..... I even said to security what I was doing and they were fine. 5 Minutes later I came back and the security pretended they didn't know me and my mates couldn't get me back in. I had to walk all the way round the Astoria onto Soho square and queue at the back. Was a right palava. Never again will I queue all day for a gig :(

was easily my favourite venue in London. A small part of my soul died when they closed it and an even bigger part of my soul died when I walked past recently and the building isn't there any more. Fucking Crossrail. There was also a monster good chip shop on the corner of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street called Dionysus that closed at the same time. I was mortified

London crowds are fucking shit.

I remember watching Royal Blood just after they took off last year at the Electric Ballroom, I was in the middle of the floor attempting to rock out and just getting looks from people. I just moved to the side.........

someone said something to me yesterday which should mean that Tame Impala aren't on the bill this year.

What was said is worked from an assumption, but there's solid reasons behind that assumption so it's likely to stand up.

it's a bit odd that Kevin Parker is coming to Glastonbury just to DJ in Shangri-La if that is the case. they're on tour in the US the week before, and playing Roskilde on the Friday after, so 2 weeks downtime with no gig is a bit of a waste when you have a band/crew to pay....

Time well wasted in my book, Ghosty!

As mental as it sounds, it might just be a case of they didn't want to book them. Tame Impala would obviously want a high slot, and maybe they weren't prepared to offer it to them. It sounds ridiculous but they probably wanted Ellie Goulding or something instead :P

He probably just likes the festival. He's been there a good few times, and probably thought it was a cool place to hang out with some mates. Do a bit of DJ'ing with a friend, and get a few more complimentaries. No brainer!

well i'm not doubting that he likes the place, just that he has several band members and crew on tour, most/all from Australia, so they either need to be put up for 2 weeks on the opposite side of the world while they twiddle their thumbs, or fly them home for 10 days which will cost a decent whack too. plus gear storage. it would make a lot more sense to actually play a gig during that time, if he's going to be coming to Glastonbury anyway....

Tame Impala could be doing a secret set. If they aren't announced I'm sure there will be a fair few people expecting one over the weekend. Maybe Williams Green on the Thursday (unlikely though, probably too big) or a random slot on somewhere like the Park. As already ready said its a complete waste to have Kevin Parker and not have Tame Impala on the bill, they are as deserving of a high slot than most on the line up
