I've said it in the headliner thread but I'll say it here too, technically it doesn't say they're headlining

Radiohead could still do the Saturday, although even as the most optimistic my faith is dwindling

I can't really look past Adele now, its a sad day.

Think it's over, think Neil had been given some bad information here.

Not necessarily. The info was never 'headlining' but just 'playing', and anyway there's still a headliner to announce, the one we always felt was the least likely to happen.

I don't know either way, tho I'll say again that the source was right last time.

It is worth remembering that Adele still hasn't successfully performed to a large crowd anywhere. It wouldn't be a shock for Radiohead to be signed on for next year (both Eavii have referred to at least some of next year being sorted already) but also ready to step in if Adele realises that spending half the evening drunkenly crying on stage might not be her best move. Obviously not worth getting your hopes up too much but it's definitely possible.

How good was your sources on Adele compared to the radiohead sauce.

Fancy sending them a quick email haha

If somehow it did come to be that they were the 3rd headliner it would be a pretty special year for the Eavii, that would be 3 bands who are big friends of the festival topping the bill.  Clinging now to the "3 British bands" quote.  I'm sure Adele would be the braver booking but my selfish heart wants Radiohead.

I'm just trying to be fair to the info I was told. This source has told me good info before, and so I think it's jumping the gun to be dismissing it as definitely wrong just yet.

But personally, if it's not been cleared up either way by the time of the festival, I'll be at the festival thinking it's more-likely than not that RH will be playing somewhere over the weekend.

They remain a SR for the moment then?

stick Adele on in the afternoon.

Ed Sheeran is a pretty a big deal right, just toured the world selling out stadiums left right and centre, and yet he played in the afternoon...

I will continue to desperately clutch at straws for a good while yet

The key to that is timing. Ed Sheeran became a bit of a megastar AFTER playing 3rd down on the Pyramid

I still reckon they could stick Adele on in the afternoon.

I'm wondering (this is speculation, nothing more) if they might, perhaps, play before Adele on the Saturday night.

It would give that big headliner experience that Adele has said she feels she might not deliver, and then leave her to wind things down a little for those who stay, while action can be found elsewhere for those who want it.

    • Sabrina I actually think is alright, but as an overall thing including Fontaines in the mix it does look very boring.
    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
    • Not sure if this is allowed, but I have an additional daily ticket which I’m willing to sell for a heavily reduced price. If you, or someone you know wants to go that day, but wouldn’t for the original price, let me know.    Edit: It’s for Friday
    • Couple of standing tickets left on ticketmaster if anyone is still trying
    • Choosing  I think boycotting a festival you would usually attend simply because you don't like one of the acts is pretty petulant to be honest, just go and watch a different stage. There are plenty of the usual slam dunk attendees who would be into him, as well as attracting new festivalgoers too.
