and as to whether they'll be headlining, they surely must be - can't be doing another secret set. it's their time to grace the Pyramid again

I was told he didn't have any info for whether they were headlining or not. I passed that on.

And yep, while headlining seems more likely, in another thread here there's a bunch of people saying that muse, foos and coldplay are the nailed on headliners, and who knows? They might even be right.

And of course what i've been told about Radiohead might be wrong. All I know is that the guy has previously given me good info.

So....

Word I hear is that they're playing. The word should be good because it's been good before, but I can never know until announced (or not).

I have no info to whether that might be headlining or not.

WOOOOOOOO YEAH IT'S HAPPENING

yeah the Muse, Foos, Coldplay thing is still worrying, but things might've changed i guess as that's the same story they've been flogging for a few months now, or your info of Muse not headlining might have caused a mix up in the whole thing, plus Foos just doesn't seem likely to me for the obvious reasons. fuck me i hope this is true - i know i've been going on about it but a part of me didn't at all believe it was actually gonna happen

Radiohead must be a headliner,  every other festival they are?

i think the thinking was whether they'd be headlining or do another secret set, but considering Thom & Jonny did a secret set in 2010 and Radiohead did one in 2011 then it'd be a bit odd for them to do another one, so yeah, in my eyes, it's Pyramid or nothing

Well there was that weird rumour that Muse might not headline.

if the Radiohead info is true then i personally don't think Muse will be there at all - no other festival dates announced thus far - unless they're doing some weird scaled down set, which seems incredibly un-Muse

I really doubt that they'd book Coldplay, Muse and Radiohead in the same year, so Muse are starting to look a bit like the odd man out.

yep definitely my thinking too - Radiohead, another (Adele? Foos i guess?) and Coldplay looks a lot less beige/samey

SR on unknown stage? Not pyramid??

Neil's info didn't specify whether they'd definitely be a headliner (have done secret sets in the past) so i guess he just didn't want to throw them on to the Pyramid just yet, although imo that's the only place they'll be playing

Because the geezer specifically said he didn't know if they were headlining or not, which does open up the possibility of a different stage to Pyramid.

And I have stuff which indicates other people headlining (tho that might be wrong or things have changed), while nothing to indictae Radiohead headlining.

can you imagine the rumour mill if they don't appear on the line-up, people will be running from the Bimble Inn to the Park every 10 minutes just hoping to catch a glimpse of Thom

    • New Overmono album is... just good for me. Had high hopes which were later dashed a bit after listening to some of the singles but they brought me back around enough to appreciate some very nice work in there. https://music.apple.com/ie/album/pure-devotion/1894298100
    • I don't really worry about headliners (unless there's a real possibility of a once-in-a-lifetime artist landing for it) but I'm starting to feel a bit cold on the names floating around bar Fontaines.  Harry Styles and Sam Fender, I can see the value and commercially speaking, they've earned it.  Sabrina Carpenter is obviously popular enough to do it - but after she's headlined everywhere else and done Coachella earlier this year, is it not just a bit predictable to follow what other festivals have done?
    • Bollocks to “safe” headliners, bollocks to the masses. Get interesting, get risky, challenge people.
    • The Cure would be a dream, I can definitely see them doing a second run of festivals they may have missed this year and they seem the definitive Latitude act  If they do festivals next year maybe The Strokes could be a shout? Im stunned either them or Kings of Leon haven't played yet This is a great shout for names, youre right that CMAT is taking a year out though - we're like to know more in the autumn when festivals start making announcements  The only other act I'd really love to see is Idles headline the tent
