This is the thing he's a massive celebrity yes, and as such this all adds to that - but rockstar?

Grohl is owning that currently I believe. Compete with his Throne

Ps. Cheers ghandi, old skool

DG specifically markets himself as the antithesis to the typical rockstar cliche, I don't get you.

Kanye has certainly been the biggest 'rockstar' for a while now, but of course that's far from being the best or most deserving of such a title. I reckon someone will overtake him in that regard pretty soon anyway, he's clearly losing his fire.

Homme too laid back to care, but he calls the shots for all those guys.

J-Ho gets fucked up in private with his desert pals. He could be 'the biggest rockstar' but he keeps it real and focuses on making music as much as possible with as many people as possible. Probably called quits on the rockstar lifestyle after getting charged for putting the guy from The Dwarves in hospital.

Jack White gets fucked up in private with his Nashville pals. He could be 'the biggest rockstar' but he keeps it real and focuses on making music as much as possible with as many people as possible. Probably called quits on the rockstar lifestyle after getting charged for putting the guy from The Von Bondies in hospital.

there are almost no boundaries left to be pushed. I can listen to music that's decades old where boundaries have been pushed much further. The Beach Boys pushed more boundaries than he's done 50 years ago. Alt-J are more unusual than him. Weather Report, Terry Riley, Wilco, Radiohead....

Alt-j are the most boring act I've had the misfortune to watch

If I seen an act and didn't enjoy it I probably wouldn't post maybe once max so I just find it weird that posters (tonyblair,TheNal etc) keep coming back this thread to say how much they hated it and how shit it was. We get it lads move on maybe post on something you do like yeno a bit of positivity for a change.

I personally had a great time . I was close to the front, thought the lights were brilliant and the only song missing was hey mama. Easily the best headliner this year in my eyes

every thread needs to hear both sides of the argument. It'd be shit if we were all just sat here sucking kanye's plums wouldnt it?

the stuff about him being a rockstar is laughable though. As is the chat about dave grohl being one.

Someone like nick cave has more rock n roll charisma than all these knobheads put together.

.

yep totally agree but im not going to be on here posting everyday about how great it was whereas some post (nearly) everyday about shit it was.

Re biggest rockstar I wouldn't classify him as a rockstar but i haven't seen anyone suggest who is the biggest rockstar except for grohl who is likeable but boring.

    • Do you think they'll release today's cupra pulse lineup?
    • I had a great time yesterday and came to the conclusion that everytime (or, more accurately, both times) I didn't have a great time at Primavera, it was water-related. Either there was too much of it (Thursday 2026) or there wasn't enough (Thursday 2022, week 1).
    • I sacrificed the first hour of the cure for Role model yesterday and oh man that was a good bet! That guy and his band are insanely good and an hour long only bangers!
