Foals

Recommended Posts

Was pretty empty in the tent for Foals, Slaves had a much bigger crowd straight after. I thought Foals were more popular than that, if it was a rehearsal to headline in the next couple of years I'd say they failed it.

I was at Leeds and the tent was rammed...  I was at the back too

NME would have reported it that way if it turned out to be absolutely shite. Foals are one of their darlings.

I'd usually agree, they weren't right on it to praise The Libertines the other night, didn't shame it but didn't call it ground breaking, no one did on here so they probably couldn't.

I'd be a little surprised if they only give themselves two months before an arena tour, huge bands give themselves longer than that.

I suppose they could announce the arena tour within the next month to give it more time as I imagine the vast majority if not all tickets are sold for the November tour.

The Paris date might be the start of a more extended European tour given it's the only date they've announced so far which might give more time too.

People did see their new song only entered at number 87 on the top 100 didn't they, not even a top 40 single. Little Mix, DJ Snake & AlunaGeorge and 5 Second Of Summer beat them.

Which says all you need to know about people who actually buy singles nowadays.

Edit: For comparison, Foo Fighters comeback single 'Something From Nothing' charted at 73 in the UK.

A number one album is usually an indicator of popularity though. Foals are a little band being pushed by either deluded fans or a promoter with a stake. There are bigger, better and more successful bands that should get a push up first.

This exactly! They aren't a great band, they do nothing special that loads of bands haven't before.

Do people realistically think they can sell an arena tour out by the end of January?, and they won't exactly be putting the dates out tomorrow.

    • Well when you chuck 150 predictions put somethings gotta stick 😜   When you have GC or Avril as options to sub Blink, Turnstile wouldn't be a good option at all. Put them under a heavier headliner.   The thought that three days grace will headline avalanche is pretty laughable with the slots they are getting this year at fests. They were class at RIP     On am overall side note, Bruce slipped on last night see you next year before the encore!   Also Maiden smashed it!
    • Assuming nobody knows she’s playing before the main sale, it wouldn’t be that bad. There’d still be plenty of Swifties for you to sneer at but it wouldn’t be because they’ve infiltrated the sale, it would be because she’s just that popular.
    • I just saw Rock am Ring in Germany did a video announcing blink-182 will be playing it next year during this year's festival there.   We talked about when Glastonbury announces it's first headline act but that would be different if they announced a 2028 headliner during next year's event.
