🤣 mate just like those days!! aaah French bangers!! I just chuck em in hold luggage next to the throwing stars😉

35+ years ago those things were mental.  You'd never quite know whether the fuse was slow or scarily quick until you lit it 😱

The only sensible option would be for Claire’s partner to build an undetectable but critical area of weakness into the fence to allow access to the site

Of course due to the high security he’d need to entrust the plans into the care of a utility droid to get them off site and into the hands of the eFests rebel alliance. But those are minor details.

I’m pretty sure we can convince a local farm hand to smuggle the plans out.

Oh are you still allowed to bring knives back, like in the glory days of school trips with flick knives and french bangers?

On a school trip in the 80s to Bayeux we bought loads of bangers, some bright spark decided to let a load off at the tapestry museum, we were politely asked to leave……France.

Aye, sometimes I see kids get slated for stuff and know that we all make mistakes.

Bring them down to the farm. I set off a load of fireworks when I was incredibly drunk in 98 and was shocked that the stewards in those days were fully supportive 😊

whats that tent alongside / slightly behind the other stage ...?  inter  stage accessed  ?

Pretty sure it's just the equivalent (artist areas) of the one at the side of the Pyramid. Just a bit smaller.

Yeah I'd get kicked out in minutes if I let them all off there these days! Remember when the whole site was just people letting off fireworks at one another (and burning tents)....

I suspect that there are individual band/artist tents within tents, so that acts have private areas. A bit like this.

nothing beats a good fresh and black though ..... all looks a bit too sanitised 🙂

Do my eyes deceive me or are putting additional toilets at the back of The Other field?

I genuinely can't remember if the ones to the left have been there before? The long drops and toilets to the right have definitely always been there.

Is that a permanent structure throughout the year

No. it's put up each time. 2019 was the first time. Like everything else on site, it's pretty impressive.

EDIT: Just saw the previous reply.

Tried to tell my newbie companion that they build a popup supermarket every festival. She wasn’t approving until I let her know the festival also has a net positive environmental impact. Got a 🤯 moment.

Just tell her the ice leaves no trace

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
