Camplight is made of tents left behind at previous festivals so isn't uniform at all. I'm pretty sure all of those on Pennards will be them.

So do camplight actually put the tents up for you in the field you want? This could be a much better solution than hiking in early trying to get a good spot.

It's just Pennards, I think.  I was looking on my phone when I first mentioned them, as I only saw the big block of tents, not the others scattered about (e.g. Oxylers)

haha Chicken Katsu Curry i  believe, were in similar if not same positions last year.. I'd rather walk to the other side of the pyramid field and have a yorky filled with mash/sausage and gravy:)

That mash and gravy.

No, just in that section of Pennards.

It is just in Pennards but it is where a lot of people consider prime real estate. Easy access to Park and Other, shortish walk back from SL/Arcadia

Location wise I can see the appeal but I'd rather camp somewhere with a bit more room outside my tent.

Yeah I understand that. We are aiming for Pennards again this year but wouldn't surprise me if, as a group, we opt for somewhere less hectic after the fallow year.

Did consider Camplight for convenience this year but I'm training for a 5 day trek in September (not a very me thing to do) so I'm in better shape than I normally am and the struggle will be good training at the very least! It seems reasonable value and would mean that making a crazy early start on Weds to get a decent spot would be unnecessary. I still might do it in the future, then leave when we wake up just to get that last full night of sleep but still be in with plenty of time for the evening.

yeah pennards and oxylers pretty much sound like my ideal of hell, packed in like sardines, no breathing room, least chilled out place in the fest....no thanks, dont get the appeal at all.

The appeal is the location. Tents become somewhere to crash and that's about it. I don't want to chill at my tent, but even though it's busy, I've always found it a pretty relaxed vibe.

Out of curiosity, where do you prefer?

I concur, it gets packed but still able to sit in a circle and have the first beer of the day then it's location is suitable for a shorter walk on the way back from most late night venues.

Did we ever figure out why they have moved the fence further up the field at the park and to the right? That area is surely too steep to camp on?

Its just so the cranes/trucks that are putting up the screens/speakers/sound desks dont damage the ground.

    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
