around the time of his arrest it was nothing about the banks and everything about him being anti-child abuse in the child protection sense.

As I've already said, I'm not trying to condemn him. There isn't the evidence to condemn him.

But there definitely is the evidence to say that he did something wrong by merely paying for access to a child abuse website, and that he suffered the legal consequences as a result of that admitted guilt.

There's been a few posts made that have denied the proven facts. I've posted back only to correct those wrong facts.

I was more making out a reference to Michael and Emily's value set than my own, and trying to put myself in their position.

At the extreme end of things, the Glastonbury brand might get seriously damaged, people stop buying tickets (as they might if they're not guaranteed a decent headliner), the Eavis' perhaps lose the farm, and all of the thousands of people who've come to rely on Glastonbury as part of their worklife lose that work including however many it is today who the festival employ full time.

It's very very easy to take the moral high ground when you have nothing riding on it. It's a different thing when it all falls back on you.

I feel this burden quite heavily with just one other person I'm responsible for paying money to each month so he can pay his mortgage and eat and things, and while I try my best to not fuck people over, that ends up also including who I employ.

Life is more complicated than you presented it as. That doesn't make your moral view (which I share) wrong, but it does make those choices much much harder.

Because there's no way he could have told us what he does know and can tell us(that this is a far bigger omnishambles than it even looks) without making it clear that he knows more than he wants to say.

Weller would have been brilliant headlining the Park. best gigs Ive seen him was at Eden in Cornwall (quite similar atmosphere to the park) and at the Barrowlands in Glasgow.

He doesn't really compromise his setlist at festivals - I was there the last time he played Glasto and although I'm clearly a fan I get why folks wont enjoy it. he's one of the most prolific song writers we've ever produced but he never puts that show together in a big crowd on the main festival stages - he's always wanting to look forward and not be seen as a greatest hits act.

I'll go and see them but would give it a miss if they were up against Ryan Adams or a few others that I really want to see.

Yes he has. He's told you that there's likely a lot more to it than it first looks. Imagine if he hadn't said anything. Would you still be desperate to know what was going on? Or would you just assume it was a normal: someone dropped out, someone got booked as a last minute replacement.

We know it's more than that. Which is something in itself.

I personally would snub that band for evermore

and it would send out a message if everyone of those ticket holders just asked for a refund and did the same.

If it helps anyone, I chose to see the first half of the Who in 2007 and catch the last half of Chemical Bros........what a mistake

Really wish I had stayed at the Chems.... I might not know the tunes by name but from when I arrived, I knew every single tune they played and the light show was pretty impressive.

Given the conditions - Had the Who been any good, I would probably have stayed for the whole set.

what was interesting about Hyde park 1996 was it was not held in its normal spot { have not a clue why }

it ran parallel to Bayswater Road with the stage to the west - there was thousands who showed up without tickets

I have lost counts at how many times I have worked at a concert where Paul Weller was playing.

Just watching the Weller set now after finding it boring at the time, and it doesn't come across any better on TV either. The crowd look masively bored. Baffling how he got such a high slot.
