Spending Money at Glastonbury

Though at festivals I never really get hungover.

This is weirdly true isn't it, I remember a night years ago when I went ape shit and smash a bottle of port & a fair wig of tequila which would have put me out for 2 days in the real world but I woke up as fresh as a daisy.

Similar ocurancies aren't uncommon

Just found out a mate of mine is taking a van down and has said I can put my booze in there and pick it up at the festival. That'll save me a lot of money, was considering not taking very much this year as I can't be arsed having a lot of luggage on the coach (and carrying it all in one trip is killer if you have a few crates).

Also I find the opposite with hangovers at festivals. I never hangover (had about three in my life in the real world - even on horrific nights I'll wake up with no memory whatsoever but feel fresh as a daisy), but always feel shit in the morning at festivals. Think it's the sleeping in the tent and waking up sweating and roasting hot.

Unfortunately I'm abysmal at getting out of bed, so at festivals I just carry on laying in my own sweat, in a bloody sauna of a tent, with a banging headache, wondering how long it'll be until I literally explode.

Do they sell ice at the festival? I am thinking of taking a cooler bag to keep the beers cold.

Perhaps - see
even if you find a trader expect to pay a high price due to the cost of storing it frozen - if its hot weather Bars will be under instruction not to sell it over the counter as stocks are limited.

An original lucozade, some paracetamol and some toast usually gets me up and going again.

If I wasn't up and going I wouldn't be heading all the way across the site for a cold can. Heck, I wouldn't even be drinking a can. It's for the mobile, but needing a kick up the arse stage. It has just enough caffeine to wake me up without giving me terrible anxiety (I am a caffeine lightweight).

On the Friday in 2013 I spent a whopping £1 on a bottle of water as I had been drinking warm vodka and coke, later I found our my missus has been drinking fresh pints all day and spent a good £80.

At £4.50 a pint .. Spending £80 would mean that she had 17.7 pints!

Good going, but she is a mere lightweight compared to thurlow84 who could comfortably consume another 6.3 pints with relative ease!

I'm no stranger to drink but bloody hell, 24 pints a day for 5 days?!!! I think this is stretching, do you actually see anything apart from the bar or bog?!! :fie::drinks:

Im not saying thats what im going to do, its just how i budget for festivals,15-20 pints then onto the vodka is a usual night out for me so streching that over the course of a day doesnt seem that excessive to me....im also traveling by coach so wont have many, if any, drinks with me so i'll have to buy what i sup there

You are a machine. Do you have any top toilet tips to avoid having to pee so bloody often when on the pints?

Money is tight at the moment, so I'm going to only bring £100 this year, see how far it gets me. I'll try and bring my as much of my own booze and, ahem, other things as possible, but I'm going by coach so I'll have to get inventive

Boxed wine and spirits is the way to go.

Use wine as your mixer for the spirits and you'll be fine!!

We get ice every year. Costs about 10 quid a bag near The cross from other stage field towards park. Not much when you have a group of 10-15 all chipping in. Nice cold drinks!

I know it's not much between you but it's the principle .. 10 English Pounds for a bag of frozen tap water?

No thank you - i'd rather drink them warm as part of my own personal protest! A horrible warm can is all part of the Glastonbury experience anyway!
