the thing is if they Dont want it to be all about the headliners they could easily NOT make it all about the headliners and not make individual announcements about the headliners.

also, y'know, get a broad range of names out there.

Exactly, it shouldn't be about the headliners.

This year should specifically be about patti smith on west holts on sunday night!

That is why i was sceptical.

I know it's all a tease, and i thoroughly expect it to be soon, but i still feel Neil knows more than he's letting on... for example 'It won't be in March', but could be at Midnight... as it's April.

if we are getting anything before balances close its got to be either the 1st or 2nd. Friday, sat, sun, mon are off the table as weekend and bank holidays - or at least you'd expect they wouldnt drop anything on a non working day.

tuesday 7th is the final day, could happen then i guess, but would seem less likely than the next 2 days. No point them announcing something on final day of balances, they may as well just wait till after if they are leaving it that long.

to announce nothing further between now and 23:59 07/04 would be a big statement from the festival in my opinion. almost as big a statement as dropping a poster!

For the experts thru the years, when has it been past years? Before/During/After the pay of the balances?

I think it's gonna be this April 1st , 9:00am, ( If I'm not wrong 2013 was last week of March, and 2014 was first week of April)...

It will be when they want.

People know what they are getting 100+ stages filled with a eclectic range of music, together with other forms of entertainment that will blow your mind, include a atmosphere where everyone looks out for each other (especially in wet years) and strangly enough these days talks to each other.

This is a fair point. Maybe next year they should state during the initial ticket day that the lineup will not be announced until AFTER final payment date?

But then if it didn't sell out, that'd be awkward. I'm fairly sure they will announce a good chunk of it this week, so they actually have time to refund everyone who decides not to go because of the line up and re-sell the tickets. If they don't announce they might get a glut of cancellations in April from people who paid off the balance then decided they didn't like it when announced, and got a refund.

They need the balance payment window to be a good indication of who is still going so they know what they have to re-sell and can ensure they're able to re-sell those tickets.

I worked it out the other day these are the past 3 years lineup annoucnement, both initial and then full

2014... 4th April, (then Full 8th May)
2013....27th March, before payment week opened (Full 30th May)
2011.... 2nd March we knew 13 acts then (14th April Full)

    • Good catch this. Used on the Main stage on Saturday like a really cheap alternative.   Cracking little day though. A few Belgian acts to start the day (Atomic Orchestra, Kids with Buns, Selah Sue), some UK/IE midsized bands to end the afternoon (Gurriers, Wunderhorse, Wet Leg) and then an evening of Deftones, Florence and Underworld.   Can’t wait to be there and (at least try to) make the most of it.
    • I would be surprised if they don't, given 2022 was the twentieth I imagine next year is going to be pushed as the 25th anniversary so having the most local big name artist possible headline seems natural. Maybe SFA are being saved for then too?
    • I’d be incredibly surprised if she was in the headline conversation at all. At best I could say a high Pyramid slot but I reckon maybe Other headliner against a rock act like Fender or even Other sub (where I have her in my predictions). I’d say Gracie Abrams is pulling similar if not better numbers to Tate and she was third down on the Other last year.
    • I dont think headliner. Other stage maybe
    • Sophie Williams (journalist and Mercury Prize judge) was on Huw Stephens' roundtable last week, said she'd love to see Overmono headline Green Man. Does feel like it's bound to happen. 2027 is surely on the cards seeing as they're about to release a new album
