Its got a big statue thing of a flamenco dancer on the top. I always walked past it and meant to try it but only got round to it last year, definitely one of the best value meals I've had at G, will make an effort to head down at breakfast time this year.

Think so. Can't rightly remember. Stood at back of field looking at stage and it's on your left, but facing away from the stage.

Chorizo fried egg sautéed potatoes spinach and beans for about a fiver I think. Eaten in the pissing rain while listening to reverend payton's big damn band.

I dropped on with bubble and squeak. Two people in front of us. We ordered and then as we waited for food the queue just grew quicker than a porn star's cock in the hands of a fluffer.

I just swooned. That sounds fucking glorious.

It was. I may be wrong about the price but I remember thinking it was well worth what we paid. Much better than the kedgeree across the field which, although nice, didn't live up to the four year build up I'd given it. Have made better at home.

I had the kedgeree there too. I'd also been intending to have it for a while - 6 years in my case. Very disappointing, especially after the wonder that is the fish curry.

I have wandered past the "chill and charge" tent, and I think the same thing every time

WHY ? in the name of all that is Holy, WHY waste you valuble time in there ??

I didn't take my phone onto site last year. I wont this either.

Got no need for it. The last thing I want to do is hear from anyone in the "real world". Ok, I miss out on hearing about some secret sets, but I end up doing something else

This will be my 5th year and have never queued for anything other than food and toilets - and even then that's never taken very long. Glastonbury is the best festival in my opinion for queueing and organisation. I have still never tried the fish curry or Tapas though, both of which look most appealing. Will be in the queue for those this year!

I'm staying just off site but hope to get in (gate b ) around 1pm Wednesday afternoon. What will the queues to get in be like at that point?

Anecdotal evidence suggests not much of a queue at all.

No, he's actually right - there's a million things to do, even at night -so why queue if you don't want to? Just find something else.

I know, whateverman. I am a long time festival goer but a first time GF'er and I know how much there is to do at festivals! It's just that I've never had to queue to get into a venue at a festival, and on reading stuff on the forum I was struck by how often it is mentioned regarding Glastonbury.

For instance, people commenting on how they had to queue for a second time to get back into a venue after having to go for a wee! As someone who hadn't experienced festival queueing before (other than getting in, food, toilets etc) I wondered how prevalent it was.

As such, Mr Wali's response was somewhat unenlightening!

Are they heinz beans?? If so, Im jealous

Well Beans are essential and any catering Manager who wants to keep the contract would be very unwise if they use own brand Baked Beans.
The inner core of the WBC is people who have been doing various festival jobs for over 20+ years so upset one of them and the catering crew might as well pack up and go home.
There was a near riot when a catering assistant was spotted watering down Heinz Tomato Ketchup with vinegar.
anyway back to Beans - they have two Commercial Conveyor belt Toaster's { they cost about £1,000 each } - set up self service and we dive out and will bring in a load of fresh bread.
now it does not matter how high they are set - they always bang out anaemic toast so we will be sitting close and as soon as they plop out we pop them back in and after three heats its real toast and then back up to get the catering staff to pop in a good dollop of Beans.
one morning we were waiting for the third cycle of toast when this new Volunteer walked up and picked up the WBC Chairman's toast - it totally cracked us up -
I am sure the Volunteer had not a clue who any of us were but trying to pinch the Chairman's toast is a classic.
He may have thought there was no queue but if he had waited a second he would have seen us lifting the toast and banging in more slices of bread
now toast and beans is essential at a festival When Your Working
---------
a shot from 2013 - it was so good I had to have a second meal { well you never know as the next day it may be rubbish { I am a very fussy eater }

For instance, people commenting on how they had to queue for a second time to get back into a venue after having to go for a wee!

Now that's ridiculous.

There are quite a few venues with toilets, usually portoloos with no light although at least one venue had compost loos last year and they might increase that next year. For pretty much anywhere in the SE corner that has queues but no loos they will give you a stamp so you can skip the queue and get straight back in. Usually though the toilets are so far from where the venue is that I just decide to go somewhere else.

because you might want to see an act in a certain venue, and he/she is wondering about where/when these queues occur....

it's not much use going somewhere else, if you want to see Jon Hopkins in The Glade at 10:30pm on Saturday...

In WH field as you look at the stage it's on your right down almost parallel with the stage Goahan Fish Curry mmmmmmmmmmmm

Took until my 4th Glastonbury to get round to getting a fish curry from there. Every other time I walked past before, there was a massive queue, so always got something else. Managed to get some last year when on the way from Cabaret field to see The Lee Thomson Ska Orchestra on West Holts, and there were only about 3 or 4 folk waiting. Well worth it.

Branston>Heinz any day.

Heinz consumers are Cowell loving sameheads who don't deserve a ticket at the festival.

Ben, very surprised a man with such obscure tastes as you eats Heinz,

Badlands, you are quite correct to observe that I am very much more leftfield than the woolen-coated masses that frequent festivals, giving me a smashing air of pompous superiority.

However, there are certain times when one must accept that the most poular something is so because it is the best. Beans. Ketchup. you can't argue with the truth.

Even mavericks comply sometimes...

    • Seems the addition of the Sun Stage area is interesting. Suspect this is the area where the Stage 4 used to be pre-2024. Looks as though they want to try create some space to keep people in amongst the arena post-headliners, rather than just crowds all descending back on the campsite entertainment at once.
    • 2000 Trees - 3 Day Tickets on Concert for Carers to buy (pair £15) sure they will not have them for long, I cant check if they are still available as it now says I have already bought tickets.
    • times and technology has changed , a pyramid headliner is often about the show thats put on as much as the music like it or not and as much as many would like to you cant really blame an artist for trying to get the best out of the set both for the audience in the field and for the cameras also .... Beyonce was 15 years ago
