If I leave my sunglasses at home, it will be a scorcher!

In 2007 it was actually quite sunny on the Wednesday when we pitched up. I'd left my sunglasses at home and uttered the immortal line "I'll have to go and buy some more sunglasses". It then rained non stop for the rest of the weekend. This is my confession, it was all my doing

Haha. Accuweather reporting ridiculous amounts of rain now. Tonnes more than last year. And at point that was hard work!

This is probably just them making up for the fact that they predicted minimal rain last year. I believe consensus among weather forecasters was for a few mms, and we got over 50mm.

I am now willing to partake in weather chat - before it changed to much but now it's NEXT WEEK! I'm ready. I will take the Friday showers - what's Glastonbury without getting rained on the Friday??

Lovely, that's what.

There's too much text and footballers in this thread. I need colourful science/maths images/plots.

Was it really that bad? I remember a few puddles and the odd bit of mud. But it never stopped me having a good time :D

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2635167#outlook Monday 22 June—Sunday 28 June Diverging computer models

The various computer models are diverging at this point but some common patterns have emerged.

In general, we are expecting high pressure to bring a good deal of dry and settled weather to many northern, central and eastern parts of Britain but this will also mean the increased risk of warmer thundery plumes potentially bringing localised thunderstorms. Further north, frontal systems will make inroads at times. On the whole we are likely to see average or below average temperatures across Northern Ireland and Scotland but the further south and east you are, you're more likely to have days of above average temperatures particularly associated with the warmer air being drawn in from the continent. Rainfall amounts are expected to be below average

On average how much mm of rain is required before the festival (or festivals in general I guess) turn into a swamp?

3mm maybe, depends on the previous day whether the ground is bone dry and jus soaks it up,also depends on human traffic, jus a guess?

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
