I'm a welly risk taker, 2013 I left the wellies in the car boot on purpose as convinced it would be dry

(It wasn't and I fell over on my arse twice in Thursday before retreating in a huff to my tent)

Monday 22 June—Sunday 5 July A very British summer

Towards the end of June and into the start of July it looks as though we're going to see an area of high pressure moving towards the UK from the Azores but struggling against the chilly northwesterly weather pattern of the previous week. What this means in terms of the weather we can expect is a bit of a northwest-southeast split. In the north and west the weather is likely to be unsettled with showers and longer spells of rain and strong winds at times too. Temperatures are looking like being below average too. In the south and east the weather will be more settled with longer sunny periods with lighter winds but still turning chilly by night. All parts will see at least some rain or at least showers, but the focus for this type of weather will be northern and western Scotland, Northern Ireland and northwest England. The best of the drier and brighter weather will be found in eastern and southern Scotland, Wales and eastern and southern England with the highest temperatures likely in the southeast of England.

Clear to me that this puts Glastonbury in the South/East part of the divide. If wales is going to be part of the 'best of the weather', then we're fine.

Agrees with all forecasts so far. Some rain at some point, some sun at some point, nothing on either extreme.

It's a bit all over the place at the moment, which is kind of expected given we're still 10 days away (how exciting). 

 

I'll be glad that it's a bit clearer this time next week, this is the only time of year where I spend some time studying the forecasting models on Netweather

I have a pair of muck boots. They are incredible. Nice chunky tread so double nicely as walking boots. Neoprene around the calf is great and easy to roll down if getting warm. Comfortable enough to wear with a regular pair of socks. A little heavy, but overall I highly recommend them.

Rather cloudy over the weekend with showers or longer spells of rain in the north and the best of the warmer sunnier spells will be in the south of the country. Similar conditions are likely on Monday. More settled weather will spread to the north from Tuesday leaving predominantly dry and fine conditions for all for a time midweek. However, unsettled weather may return later in the period, mainly in the northwest. Temperatures generally above average in the southeast but will remain cooler in the northwest.

Tis odd that some of the models are starting to show a breakdown in pressure next weekend, similar to this. Dunno if that's a good thing though.

They've been throwing up that breakdown all the time, but it's no surprise to see it in FI as it favours a return to the norm

There's no denying it's there but it's a mild break so far and mostly north of us and later in the period, pray it stays so I guess
