I reckon Prodigy will add dates to the tour, they've just done two nights at ally pally and now just one at Wembley.

There is probably only room for a London date. I still don't think two Wembley Arenas will give thme the push. Why not just announce O2? It's not an intimate tour.

Wasn't 2 Wembley Arenas what QOTSA did on their tour before headlining.

I am expecting additional Wembley/G Mex shows and tbh I don't think the tour being smaller than expected will have any real bearing on them headlining R&L or not.

Indeed it was but they also had the big Manchester date in there, I'm still not confident they'll get it. They did arena's on their 2009 and 2005 tour and still Download/Cream are the only one's since to give them to big headline spot. IOW obviously but they always have. And Download only gave them as an act pull ed out and they needed someone. I doubt V Fest are going to offer it them, T didn't give it them and given going by lucky that they were booked in for V, they were okay to accept less than headliner bookings on the back of a new album, I'm not sure why it'd change now.

I can't see any reason why C&S couldn't headline: their crowd was huge in 2013, they've got a new album out this year on top of a breadth of possible material and they're most recent album, although I personally thought it was by far their weakest, still was really popular with two Top 10 singles w/ the album itself peaking at No. 2.

Foals to sub Glasto next year kickstarting their tour for album #4 then come back and headline R&L in 2017 concluding their tour for album #4

That's what I've plumped for atm. Same as Flo but a year behind. If either Flo/Slipknot got ruled out of R&L, though, I'd slot them in.

Their arena tour was a bit of a bomb. Practically giving away tickets for every venue on the tour.

 Is this "people on here" thing going to continue all year because I think less "people on here" would say so if the man that books the bloody headliners hadn't stated a number of times that he wants Foals to headline. And I'm sure he's well aware of their situation of not having done an arena tour yet as well. Headlining Bestival and Latitude speaks larger volumes than that shit.

Agreed. Think 2016 is a tad too soon for them and they would benefit from a Florence like situation of just subbing Glasto in the UK before headlining R&L the following year (As most seen to expect her to)

Foals

Kasabian

Royal Blood

...would be my guess for 2017.

Where are all these people saying that because Florence is subbing Glasto she is probably going to headline R&L next year?

Also I don't see 2 new up and coming headliners in one year but NME would love that trio

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
    • It's certainly gone more that way, but then they went completely in the opposite direction and had Cat Stevens.
