Lineup 2016

I think Twin Atlantic could make third if they are depending if they have a new album our before / just after the fest. Probably be 4th max though.

They're very high at T, but that's obviously majorly down to being Scottish. But it did make me wonder if they could be the next band pushed up lineups, like BMTH.

I'd be happy if they were, but I don't think the majority of people here would be :P

Even with them being Scottish, they've never taken particularly high spots on the lineup until this year. The last few years they've either been low-mid main or subbed king tuts tent.

Great Divide was a massive popularity boost though, plus they've got the Hydro date up there. It was a pretty big shock to see them headlining R1 still to be fair, I can definitely see them being pushed up the R&L lineup next time they play.

Yeah that's true, their Hydro gig seems to be selling quite well as well. I dunno about it being a big shock though, I was expecting them to be 3rd down so not a massive jump to headlining Radio 1.

Jesus that's the worst prediction ever.

ADTR will probs not be touring for next years festival season (atleast I wouldn't have thought)

Deaf Havana and Twin Atlantic as 3rd, you must be joking

Imagine Dragons as a headliner (maybe at V, definitely not at Leeds.. Yet.)

1. I've put 2/3 better/more thought through guess on here in the month since then

2. If ADTR are touring I really don't feel putting them 3rd would be that outlandish given where BMTH are this year (As much as I'd hate it)

3. Same goes for Twin Atlantic

4. Deaf Havana you're probably right about. They'll probably stall about 4/5th on the bill where they're at now

5. If the new album would've matched the last I'd stand by that, but I've changed my mind into thinking they're sub level for next year. I think they're a much better fit for R&L than V tbh, but thats not to say they won't show up at both next summer. They have a very big young fanbase that not many bands do and festival organisers will recognise that

The Strokes/The 1975 would probably be the weakest top 2 in festival history.

I'd probably agree, but my 4 months on efests has taught me not to be optimistic about this things. Given we're in 2015 it's probably right to expect a continued fall in standards.

I don't think Twin Atlantic 3rd down is that outlandish. I reckon they'd be 4th/5th just now, so with a new album they potentially could get a push up the lineup.

They packed out the tent at Leeds last year so I feel a boost up to 3rd seems about right

I was walking in to see Temples and I heard a Scotsman walking out from TA saying "Proof all the best bands ever are Scots" *sigh*

Quick question:

*co headline claxon* Would it be absurd to suggest Foals/You Me At Six do it next year?

I can't see You Me at Six doing it next year. Maybe the year after if they bring out an even bigger album, but until then, I just don't see it.

Foals is strictly a maybe in my eyes. They really do need a big album before they're even announced though. They just don't have the power at the moment.

Why is it outlandish? ADTR playing 3rd is reasonable for next year given that they're touring then which I think they will be

Toured CC to death, they'll go away and write a new album probably missing out uk festival season next year, I think if anything they might headline Slam Dunk or something. I want them to sign to a major label so they can get bigger which I don't think they will do until they sign to a major

They're writing it now and it will probably be of early next year so they'll be touring with that and they don't need a major label anymore, they're doing fine without one and what happened at Victory has probably put them off signing any more deals. Also I don't think they'll headline Slam Dunk or have the desire to as they have very little history with the festival (not too sure that they have even played it) and if they're doing early European festivals this year chances are they'll want to do late ones next year.

Maybe, I guess it all depends on if they want any time away before the record and Slam Dunk is getting bigger each year and idk whether headlining a festival here would be an attraction to them but I certainly know Ben Ray would look into it as I know he's wanting the fest to get bigger each year

And I think they'll have to coheadline arenas, possibly with BMTH or Shikari

That would be great, but I can't see it happening. If they get some decent support, ADTR could do it on their own.

A Day To Remember

Of Mice & Men

Neck Deep

That would go down a treat I think.

    • Hot on the heels of outdoor gig number 1, the second arrived quickly! Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Malahide last night (lovely sunny evening for it!). As usual, fantastic gig (ebbed and flowed from tender to feral). Since they aren't touring an album it was very different to the Wild God shows from last year, with a bunch of tracks that hadn't been played in a good while wheeled out. Highlights for me were a blistering rendition of Hiding All Away (that merged into the end of White Elephant) and a touching interpretation of A Rainy Night in Soho to close the set (well after curfew!). @Superscally, still nothing from Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! (they really must not like that album!)
    • I’m putting the 2026 code and it’s not applying the discount. Does somebody know why?
    • I think I’ve asked this before, but do we know why this is a ‘never happen’ one? I understand with Queen and Duran Duran, but I’ve never seen anything written saying one way or another if they’d do it. Would be an incredible get.
    • Here we goooo!   I never thought I'd say this at Prima Porto, famous for its rainy weather... I wish it'd be a bit colder ;D
    • I saw an interview the other day with Simon and he was asked about Glastonbury legends spot and he did say they consider themselves headliners and also said something like "The legends slot is a kind of headline slot" The actual wording might be slightly different but it gave an indication that maybe?
