Would it help if one of their songs was used on Skins?

The only 2 songs I can actually recall from Skins are the Gossip one, and Bon Iver's Woods

If you compare to a new headline status band like Biffy then Foals look pathetically weak. As I said previously "Foals don't exist off of this forum."

Biffy have had 3 top 10 albums, same as Foals, and that includes Opposites which was their first number 1 and arguably propelled them to headline status (along with Only Revolutions). Biffy have also only had 3 top 10 singles from twice as many albums, so I don't think that's a very good comparison.

"Foals don't exist off of this forum." definitely isn't accurate either, going by twitter at least, they're one of the most popular bands for my age group, up there with Arctic Monkeys even.

Foals only really need an album as popular as their last, which is what most people here are expecting to happen, to really warrant a push up.

Foals were so dull in 2013. It's obvious that the festival love them and want to push them up, but I'm more and more expecting them to sub next time they play. I thought The Vaccines would be headlining off of their third album, but that isn't happening. Have Foals co-headline with Bloc Party ;)

Thanks for your opinion. Cold hard facts say different:

  • 1
    UK Number 1s
  • 4
    UK Top 10s
  • 5
    UK Top 40s
  • 7
    UK Top 75s
  • 1
    Weeks at Number 1
  • 9
    Weeks in Top 10
  • 59
    Weeks in Top 40
  • 141
    Weeks in Top 75

I asked 2 teenagers (18 and 14) what the thought of Foals today. "Is that one of your crap metal bands" was one answer and the other said "who?" I'll shut up now, there is nothing to be gained by making my point again. They aren't as popular as some of you think they are. I quite like them for the record.

I actually agree, none of my friends knew who they were when I suggested them for sub, they know My Number but yeah they're not as well known as people make out in this forum, not like Biffy Clyro were in 2013 cause opposites was bigggg

If they know a Foals song I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess they know who Foals are.

Also what is it with new people on this forum suggesting bands to their friends? How boring must people's conversations be if they involve talking to them about festival placings of bands they've never heard of? And if these people have never heard of Foals I doubt they'd be that into R&L, so everything about this is just baffling to me. It's justanothername-ness gone mad.

Alternatively it's all shit and they all know who Foals are.

I don't even really care about Foals and couldn't care less if they headline or not. Rather have Depeche Mode (would cry or die etc.).

    • belated thanks for this ended up going, was a good evening and a great venue with a cracking beer selection (give the festival a few tips on that). Never been in before despite reasonably local.       Main takeaways from the film (as someone who didnt go for much later). The festival has changes a lot since then apart from the Green Fields that looked the exact same.  Me and my mate both agreed that Shambala is today than Glastonbury.   Cool piece of merch aswell.
