Managed to get tickets for the Saturday  can't wait, I'm sure it will be very bittersweet, really love their music.

Yeah good result. The m*d at Glastonbury this year meant I missed most of the set, so a good chance to put that right.

So, the Maccabees seem to be featuring in everyone's stage predictions, I know they're playing the week after, but apart from this, is there any actual info on them playing?

They have a nice Glasto shaped hole in their tour dates I recall.

They don't. They're playing five farewell shows after Glasto. So it's tenuous at best then? No actual chat?

Nope. Though that's the same for like 90% of the bands in the predictions

I think it is purely down to the timing of the tour however that said, Felix did mention the possibility of there perhaps being some warm up shows. Though whether that could include Glasto is another thing. They've done warm ups before in Brighton & Liverpool, prior to big or comeback shows. Would be good!

I think part of it is the fact they announced they were breaking up ages ago, but yet they're waiting until the summer for some reason.

I think everyone is presuming there must be a festival date or something which has justified waiting almost a year from announcement to actual last show. Then add Glastonbury into the equation and it seems to add up.

I'm in Thailand for the Ally Pally dates so I hope beyond hope they're at Glastonbury if that's my last chance to see them again! 

 

It would feel very special to see them there again, as long as they aren't clashing with Radiohead or something horrifying like that

Sad that I'm away for their farewell dates but fortunately caught them on all their album tours so I can't complain too much!

Yeah there's less chance now than the was before this morning. 9 gigs in 10 days is heavy work for any band. Let alone one that I assume want those last few shows to be as good as possible.

Such a strange decision to leave these farewell shows so late if they werent planning festivals before hand.

Ahh I see. I thought you'd been vocal about them not doing it but as you say, it was more about them not coming back to be lumped in a similar position on the Other Stage again.
