Sketchead
Good thread considering I'm home alone tonight and for most of tomorrow. Will have a look through my iTunes later before I make my decision. My mate keeps banging on about Run The Jewels so I need to listen to their latest album. The couple of tracks I've heard have been good.
cdm22
Probably "I Break Horses - Chiaroscuro" for me, followed by Damon Albarn and Royal Blood.

Frankly Mr Shankly
St Vincent & Beck released the best albums of the year for me. Honourable mentions to Albarn, Weezer, Wild Beasts, Morrissey, Opeth & Run the Jewels though.
Gucci Piggy
Haven't listened to too many new albums this year but East India Youth - Total Stife Forever was probably my favourite.

Winslow Leach
I'm listening to it now actually but I think it is great, defiantly one of the best hip hop albums this year. Close Your Eyes is so good! Close Your Eyes is great, the best thing Zack de la Rocha has done in years. My other highlights are probably Easy and Love Again, but to be honest the best thing about it is how well it flows as an album.
TheBoz
The War on Drugs for me St Vincent, Perfume Genius and Paolo Nutini honourable mentions

Winslow Leach
Oh shit I completely forgot Freddie Gibbs & Madlib. That's my number one When it comes to hip hops albums, RTJ2 is head and shoulders above Pinata. Pinata is good, but it's not great.

fatyeti24
And shame on those listing Todd Terje: his album is the weakest thing he's ever released.

bocumaroy
Love a good AOTY list. Only reason I listen to music really. Right now my top ten is looking like this, but there's loads of albums I need to go back to, haven't listened to a few of these for a while. Edit: Got rid of list format to avoid looking silly when my favourite in November is 17th next month. Early favourites are The War On Drugs, FKA twigs, The Antlers, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Naomi Shelton & The Gospel Queens, Neneh Cherry, Owen Pallett, Alvvays, and People Get Ready. I loved St Vincent's album for a while, then it sort of faded for me. Will go back to it. Mentions to Mac DeMarco, Gazelle Twin, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Bo Ningen, Future Islands, and Lana Del Rey.
