Quite a specific request but would anyone be able to recommend some DJs who are likely to play some Italo Disco in their sets? Palms Trax being one for example. Don't care if it's a big name or DJ playing in some smaller tent. Few of our crew going would lap that stuff up.

Check out Emmet Read - not on the lineup but a set is potentially in the works, pure Italo disco

Just listened to this set again.

They're playing the Assembly on Thursday night.

It's a great set - takes its time to reach full gas, which I imagine they'd foreshorten for a proper dance set, but if they play anything like this little beauty, I'll be there with bells on.

Sugar Free & Fonte

Ben

ah yeah this set grooves along very nicely, great option for thurs

Here's another couple of cracking mixes for you:

Ivan Smagghe B2b Craig Richards @ AW 60 (06/04/23), Fabric

Dresden (Smagghe & Manfredas)  @ Love International Festival 2023

Listened to this AW 60 Fabric set whilst running earlier and really enjoyed it thanks.

also to echo what has been said recently this really is the nicest thread on the internet, being a indie kid at heart who has grown more and more into ED stuff as I get older (in no small part thanks to Glastonbury in 2013 onwards) I find this so useful as I often  don’t really know what I like so thanks all

Out of upvotes but cheers @Supernintendo Chalmers! Liking the sound of him on his soundcloud. A few other gems I've discovered this evening although not necessarily Italo: Dar Disku, Faff, Ouissaim & CC Disco.

No problem. Dar Disku is a duo that I discovered a few years ago through this very thread. They went on to be one of the sets of that weekend!

Did anyone go to High Lights on Friday? Such a stellar lineup, sadly I'm on nights this weekend but the clips on socials look insane.

Hope it returns next year as I'd make a special trip for that setup.

My wife went. She said the sound quality was excellent.

Wasn’t too busy but to be expected for its first year, will probably be bigger next year. Slightly older crowd too (in a good way).

They were doing £5 tickets for Saturday on SFF. Had to be in by 2:30pm but still a great deal.

Just noticed we're at 1.5 million views of this thread in just under ten years. Nice.

worth noting the view counter was broken for a good few years like 2020-2022, i only just noticed its back on!

Not sure if they got counted and added when it was fixed, but we could be closer to 2 million!

That's the one I really fancied, would love to see Rival Consoles. Will keep an eye out for it next year for sure.

have to admit i thought bonobo was still playing downtempo stuff, but this kind of thing would go down a treat on the Levels in the sunshine

This is in my top 5 Boiler Room sets of all time.

It’s a work of art.

Yes, really good, the sound is absolutely banging and the lighting at the main stage with the overhead installation is class. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be and must've only been 30% full...Would imagine much busier on sat

Rival Consoles live set was superb. Max Cooper DJ set, decent. dropped off in the middle but ended strong. Not a patch on his live show imo

Not long until we can pour over the full line up, most excited to see what day/time Prydz and HAAI b2b Ki/Ki are on.

Also hoping no massive clashes for Bonobo, Bicep and Faithless.

Really hoping for a Friday Arcadia Techno night. Would start the festival proper with a bang.

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
